Bugger. We've been screwed out of a good race I reckon. Wanted to see Webber and Vettel upfront to see some wheel to wheel action.
Perez is turning out to be a crap purchase for McLaren.
And what happened with Button, how come his time was 2m05.673s?

Watch the conspiracy theories start.
He was the only one to run on mediums, so didn't need to set a competitive time.
do they have to start the race on the tyres they qualified with?
Or do they have to start the race on the tyres they qualified with?
I don't really understand all the tyre rules so bear with me. I just read this from the BBC "Vettel and Button, who is eighth, sacrificed grid positions so they could start the race on the more durable 'medium' tyre. Those ahead will start on the fragile 'soft' "
Could they not have used soft or supersoft in qualis and then start the race tomorrow on mediums? Or do they have to start the race on the tyres they qualified with?
i have to say that was an embarrassing qualifying session for f1.
Yes, they have to use the exact set of tyres that they set their fastest qualifying lap on. This is why Button went round in 2 minutes - by carefully tip toeing around, his tyres will be as good as new. In the event that you don't set a time in the session, which is what Vettel did, then you can choose what to start on.
I'm not sure McLaren made the right decision here. He'll stay on the track longer tomorrow while others pit in the hope he gets closer to the front. On the other hand, McLaren know they don't have the fastest cars so would they not have been wiser to qualify with their fastest tyres and possibly be in the front 3 at the very start of the race? Or do you think their strategy will likely mean that Button will move up to the front quite easily?
