Chippy for £1??

Always been called a "supper" as far as I'm concerned. Also, as someone else stated ref the Op's age -I'm old too :p

Thanks for the heads up OP - bit too far for me to travel though. Besides I had a Haggis Supper last night. :D

It's called a supper where I'm from as well, although the town is primarily made of scottish and irish families even though it's in the midlands.

i must be lucky i have about 5 or so chippys all in reasonable driving distance that are worth going to

but ive never said supper. sounds somthing my grand dad would say

Can get a full sized Pizza for £2, only on Monday to Thursday, Friday to Saturday it is £8 for two pizzas. They have stopped the offer at the moment but had it running for quite a few months. Name of the place is Farm Pizza is based in Heston, Hounslow.

But when you're at the chippy, you say 'Fish supper' please. Never heard anyone call it a 'chippy tea'.

You go to the chippy, to get x supper.

Watch the Royle Family. ;) Must be a northern England thing. But when I'm at the chippy I say "Fish, chips and peas, please. On a tray. With the fish on top. And salt and vinegar." :D

It's a supper! All you ever hear is a pizza, X supper or "put a special on for me bud" .

Salt and sauce should be made illegal! Salt and vinegar then sauce if I want it.

I remember getting asked salt and sauce at a place in Wester Hailes(?), the westwide centre or something, I was like....

If you google for fish supper though it brings up fish and chips ;) You can't just walk in and say I want a supper, you've got to specify :p
