Chips...

It depends. If I have curry sauce from the chinease or chip shop it's all over. If I've got plain chippies it's salt (no vinegar, eww) and BBQ sauce for dipping :D
 
I have a routine with my chips.

Vinegar > salt > sauce.

The vinegar will make the salt stick better. Then I just squirt sauce all over them.
 
Always on the side but I generally do not have any sort of sauce with chips, the sauce is decided by whatever the chips are with.
 
Tatare sauce is far superior.

The technique depends on if someone is going to try and steal a chip. Covering it with sauce the person doesn't like eliminates the chance of a chip thief.
