I seriously need to learn my DSLR. Although I enjoy your work and marvel at your abilities, it's actually your photos that I'm jealous of and leave me a tiny bit disheartened lol

Another corker on the resumé, JR, can't wait for your next project!

For me this project has always been about pushing what I can do with photography and presentation just as much as the build itself, so that's ok. It was my first sponsored project that I didn't actually 'need' to have completed as a PC for daily use and I hope that's been reflected in how seriously I take it. To most people it probably resembled a finished PC more or less the same as it is today in the 6th update, yeah it was 90% there, but rediscovering that last 10% over and over again, simultaneously moving presentation forwards is the best part. I hope next year I can find another 10%!

Yep, I just need to stop working on other peoples projects long enough to finish R1.0 INDUSTRIAL and fix FURIA then go hunting for something new. I've no shortage ideas but what will come first I don't know. Either continuing this ethos of simplicity and exploring new materials and techniques or another leap into watercooling insanity and power density to make everyone in that arena sit back down. I'll gauge how receptive people are when I properly finish off FURIA.

I had a little browse at this beauty at i60.
Totally stunning craftsmanship
Congrats JR23

What else, really? No point doing him a mediocre craftsmanship, may as well just throw it all in the bin.

I envy your build, your photos and your general awesomeness good sir. What all builds should aspire to. 11/10

Thanks, agreed, it's very much its own build, an obvious but distinctive solution. Your envy is greatly valued, sometimes thinking it's great to myself isn't enough and that makes all the difference!

Just found some pics of our setup at LSUCS LAN last weekend, only phone shots from Instagram stories but still FTW, Chocolate Box and LIGHTNING together, overkill LAN confirmed!

Lovely thread and what a stunning rig. Good job...

Thank you!

Anybody familiar with your work will be able to see and appreciate that extra 10% you pushed with the minute details and the time taken to document them. For me, that's what makes you one of the benchmarks in this scene, and certainly a driving force in getting my own work up to an acceptable level, both in craftsmanship and logging.

Don't find that extra 10% just yet though, give me a chance to at least try and catch up :p

Logging is changing all the time as well, for me Instagram is the only platform with sustained growth so that drives the content i'm trying to make way more than the forums. More about the moments along the way rather than the progression or the work that's gone into something. I tried to reintroduce that back into the thread and it worked pretty good IMO, but maybe I read too much into these things, people probably just scroll to the end and start fapping or leave.

I can't tell you when the next 10% is coming but I try to drop it just momentarily before someone catches up ;)

I think you'll do my frosted/transparent M1.0 more justice then I ever could :D

Look forward to seeing what you do next

Sure you'll do it just get nice things, don't call something finished until you're happy with it and do what you really want to do, this build would have changed a lot had I listened to EK but they got over it, I think.

An interesting statement...what did I miss?

Nothing dramatic, they would have just strongly preferred that I watercooled the CPU and thrown way more products at me. Which I get , and I also don't, so we compromised and did exactly what I wanted to do. Which is all I was trying to say to orbital.

Removing everything is pretty simple, luckily the standoffs can't fall out of the back and the loop doesn't get in the way at all.

Obviously it couldn't be just 'a' 7700k, can't leave anything to chance with such an awesome Titan XP and b-die. They were getting impossible to find in Europe but still some good silicon out in Texas!

Still love the fitment, flush with the EK heatspreaders and tight to the GPU. The only thing I don't love is attempting to plug the fan in around the heatpipes and the EPS cable.

So to revisit the last benchmarks the i7-6700k was running 4.9GHz on air in the Stinger achieving a physics score of 15860.

The i7-7700k is consistently clearing 17000 at a clock speed of 5.3GHz with 5.0GHz cache and 4000MHz memory, so an improvement of ~8% for physics and a distinct bump in combined score. Somewhere along the way i've lost 4fps on GT's, hopefully I can get the card running that well again and get on the high side of 25k! Lots of other benchmarks to try too, i'm sure this setup will shred Valley.

Temperatures are firmly in the 80°C's to run that frequency under load however it's proving to be solid for repeated Heaven passes, definitely not something I will run every day but awesome that it's possible with such a small heatsink.
