Choosing glasses be hard

My glasses are actually very much like the 2nd ones top row, They also seem to suit you the best imo.

I was lucky my sister works at an optician so I ended up paying very little compared to the original price.

You really do need to visit a optician though as if you get the wrong size frames and they ain't adjusted for you they will be a nightmare.

First two are the nicer ones.

Those stupid online things are an awful way to pick glasses though. Go to the opticians and grab one of the girls there, they'll help you, it's their job.

Can you explain what you mean by that please?

Without going into too much detail (Typing on the phone here), your lenses will be cut from a circular blank. Extremely shallow but wide frames (teamed up with a small PD) will mean there is an exaggerated difference in edge thickness due to where on the blank the lens is cut. The further from the centre, the thicker the edge, due to the curve required to create the prescription. This is true for Short sighted prescriptions (-ve Sphere eg. -2.00)

The opposite is true for Far- sighted Rx - the closer to the centre of the blank, the thicker the lens will be, so choosing a well-fitting (pupil sits in the middle of the frame, rather than closer to the nasal point) will allow a smaller blank to be used and therefore a thinner lens result.

Hope this helps explain a bit better?

Sorry for hijack but does anyone buy contacts on line? My min subscription is up with optical express and they've been dire so I want to just buy them online as and when I need them. They are dailies.

Its hard to choose with a straight on facial picture like that. Post a picture of yourself in everyday life, like ones commonly found on facebook and let us take care of the photoshopping.... of glasses of course.

Just take a female friend, or friend and his girlfriend (preferrably one with a good sense of style) with you down to the opticians to help you out. Assuming you want to attract women(?!) then you'll want their opinion!
