Choosing glasses be hard

It's not hard, they took me to the rack I picked the plainest looking cheap pair and said "these" didn't try them on or anything.

Every renewal "Just give me what I had last time, that'll do, OH CHRIST NO I DON'T WANT EXTRAS!"

I'd like to see two things, both of which I don't suppose I'll get:

A picture of you

An explanation of how having a shave and 'doing something with his skin' will help his vision

This thread never had anything to do with the OP's vision. They didn't ask how to choose glasses in order to help their vision. They asked solely about their own appearance.

The person you're replying to was brusque, but they were being relevant. Your reply isn't.

OP:

Different people will prefer different glasses, as you have seen by the replies in this thread.

If you're dressing for yourself, your opinion is the one that matters.

If you're dressing for someone else, their opinion is the one that matters.

If you're dressing for random other people, you're not going to please them all regardless of which frames you choose.

Long face (as dictated by big nose) with quite wide set eyes.
So any rectangular frames would suit, but nothing too slim.

This discounts round glasses as being wrong for the face shape
And the rimless ones as they will just get lost.

Beardy faces are quite strong so will suit heavier frames,
So you can go with the hipster look.
So #1 is ideal

#2 is also OK

Shop staff really should be trained on this :(

as said by everyone else the 2nd suit fine... You don't have to look at them.. We do and we approve.

2nd pair have the least impact - as in less stand out of any of the options if your trying to blend in so to speak, 4th on the 2nd row are the most suited to your face IMO.

First or second pair, if they are your first pair of glasses then a lot of people get glasses that are really thin and not that noticeable but they will grow on you and you will prefer the first and second one more over time (I know because i got two pairs when i got my first glasses and now dont wear the thin ones)

Having worn glasses all my life I feel your pain, although typically someone will be there on hand to help you choose (Had a very pretty female pick my last pair for me, that helped a lot ;) )

If I was to go with what suits your face I'd say 2 and 9 are the best for the job

for the love of god get the anti reflective coating, It is simply amazing and it's pretty darn hydrophobic

Always try them on at the optician.

Judging by those photos, I'd say the ones without the rim at the bottom of the lens seem to suit you best.

e.g.

Column 1, row 2

Column 4, row 2

As said, go try them on. Get an advisor to help you pick. Specsavers are also awful for choice so shop around.
