Christmas work parties

I think ive sort of been forgotten about. I work in a secondary school but because im not in any specific department (im the first LSA theyve had there) I am presuming they all have departmental parties, and ive just been missed. Never mind, saves a bit of money!
I could just hold my own in my flat, wear a silly hat and try and photocopy bits of me!
Just tag along with your favourite colleagues. :)

When I was a teaching assistant in an upper school, I worked mainly for the IT department. However no Xmas party. There were some differences of opinion shall we say. ;)

However the DT department invited me out for a curry with them. :) Was brilliant.

I dont really have any colleagues as such, im constantly with the child I am employed to look after, even at break time (he is disabled)
Ive been in the staffroom once since September.

That must get really hard for you sometimes knip? :(

Yup, can be very lonely sometimes, guess ive got used to it now, and the boy I look after (hes nearly 12) makes it worthwhile.
It was easier when we were in primary school because there were only like 20staff in the whole school, now theres over 100.
God I sound like a right whingebag now, im not, I do love my job honest! :D
Sorry to go off topic, heres the little sod in his school uniform

There was some nice teachers in my school who ate with the pupils sometimes in the dining hall and they got on well with the carers who had to look after their pupil, just like yourself and I noticed this and always had respect for them. It sounds like there are a lot of rather selfish staff at your school though, maybe nottrue just the impression im getting here...

Knip I think its terrible that you don't get to mix with the other teachers and assistants, I know your boy needs supervision at break times but they should make the effort to get to know you and spend time with you.

The company I work for doesn't do christmas dinners. Or bonuses. And my department will only get the bank hoildays off, as we've now been informed we can't take any of our holiday entitlement in December.

Unfortunately it would appear the directors think that reprographics only involves pressing (apple + P) and loading the platemaker, so regard the entire department as a waste of money and space :(

got mine tonight, annoying though...

the head of IT decided to take it upon himself to choose where we're going, and for the second year running its in walking distance from his house and miles away from everyone else, he also doesnt drink due to being on call for the fire service

on top of all that the place he chose is £32 a head :/ of course stupid me agrees that both me and the missus will go before knowing where it is.....set menu of only a few things and i dont like any of the puddings or starters :(

what a ****er, just hope i enjoy it as its a casino night where we're going ... not that im any good at any casino games >_<
