Chronicles of Riddick:Assault on Dark Athena (or DRM - when will they learn?)

And does it still class my PC as the same machine if I change any hardware? Within the past year I've had three different gfx cards (2900XT, 8800GTS, now a GTX280) in my system, not to mention any HD, soundcard, network card changes. Why should I have to phone them up if I want to reinstall a game I have spent my money on? Sorry, not acceptable. Give 'em an inch, etc.

You just have to remember to uninstal drm games before formatting, cos it gives you the install back.

Yeah but if you had say 30+ games all with the DRM, you could sit there for hours just uninstalling, in which time you could have formated the computer installed every app and drivers, and playing a game.

Even worse is if the PC crashed and you had to format without being able to uninstall.

I think the real reason for this is to make more sales from people not being able to share the game, by that I mean friend to friend. For singleplayer games, SH market is huge, so something like this is essential to break that cycle.

They aren't as stupid as its made out in this thread. A few people here wont buy it, but they'll make more by destroying the SH market for this game.

Not all people will go pirate this game, and their SH market option has now been removed.

So infact, they've protected long term sales rather than early piracy.
