CIMA...... Just got started

Did P2 yesterday and F2 today, thought they went alright, was a bit stumped at first with an exchange translation question today but thought i'd got it in the end. Now a two month wait...

Sat them both as well. I prepared much less for P2 than F2 tbh. Section A in P2 was pretty nice, especially the Kaizen question which was straight from the CIMA magazine a few months bacK.

In F2 I found Section A tricky and B ok. The consolidation was OK and as long as you worked out that $B1 = $A1.59 you were set for a straight forward consolidation. The question about the fashion business was also nice.

All in all I'd be disappointed to fail P2 and happy to pass F2 if that makes sense.

Results tomorrow... having seen the answers I'm less confident than I was before, still think I should have done enough to pass but will be an anxious wait for the 4am email.

Tried to check online when I got up this morning and despite letting me in it doesn't show the results yet - from what I've heard it's apparently something to do with a stuff up years ago where people could log in and see results as they were added. However now I've been able to check my work email I've passed both the exams I was sitting so that's a big relief - I'll need to check the breakdown to see just how close F2 was but it's a pass and that's all I really care about. Now I've just got to get up the motivation to study for the next lot...

Hope everyone else has got the results they wanted too. :)

Got 77 in P2 and 65 in F2, very happy with P2, should have done better in F2 but can't be too annoyed with a pass.

Am also interested in the breakdown, think I dropped a lot of marks on the currency conversion question

On to E1 & E2 in November, think they will be a struggle for me as discursive stuff isn't my strongpoint.

Well done on your results, way above what I was aiming for. :) Interesting that you've picked both E1 & E2 together, I was advised not to do two of the same line together but maybe it doesn't matter so much for that subject - E1 is basically just waffle and I've not yet done E2 but I'm told it's much of the same but in more depth so you may actually have to know some of the theories and be able to apply them rather than just being able to fill up pages with vague nonsense.

Yeah I didn't have that intention when I started but they advised me to do that where i'm studying (MMU), although i'm not sure how much that is trying to fit you in with the course they run (they only do the E modules in the autumn terms and they only do P2 and F2 in spring).

From what I've garnered about the E thread though you really need to pay attention to what the question is asking and not just regurgitate what you have rote learned from the text books, there seem to be a lot of people on the cima website complaining about how they learned all this and that and still failed. If that is the case it might suit me more because i've never been good at memorizing and regurgitating but I'm good at being able to think on my feet and not panic in exams.

Anyone taking exams this week? Did E1 and E2 today, went ok but you can never be sure. If i pass these its on to strats in January.

Good look anyone with exams over the next couple of days

Had E2 today and got P2 tomorrow, wasn't overly impressed that there were two questions on project management so effectively 35 marks for that part. Hopefully it's all fine but I didn't think they'd put quite such an emphasis on it.

Its 40% of the syllabus so they actual had less project management in than they should have, having said that the questions they put in for it were pretty crap, was expecting some stakeholder analysis or a project lifecycle question. Don't feel too bad about it having discussed it with people after and they all pretty much put similar things to me.

I have an F2 retake on Thursday. Missed it the first time round due to a 2 month old baby pre-occupying me slightly lol. I've put a lot of time in so hopefully it should go OK!
