Cities: Skylines

Well I spent a lot of time over the weekend watching "lets play" videos.

Got to say I am very impressed how this looks. Finally something to replace Sim City 4.

Roll on Tuesday - I may risk it and make a purchase.

I felt that same pain with SimCity. I also watched the streams and videos but decided to pre order anyway. Cities Skylines just seems right, even though I haven't played it.

I was also burned by pre-ordering SimCity even if I have played it for quite a bit after :p
But this is cheap even at full price compared and the team seems dedicated so it's worth the risk here I think.

Same thing I did watched Quill18 on his live stream and YouTube videos. Seems SimCity is dead now.

Go on make the purchase:)

I was watching Quill and Skye Plays, Skye is English and pretty funny.

I don't like pre-orders, been burned too many times by EA/Ubi - I know this is a completely different dev team and company but still.

Will hold off till Tuesday, not like it will need pre-loading - still excited though.

I want to make a new, improved London. With mods and being able to design you own buildings this could be very epic!

I'll probably pick this up a day or two after release tomorrow. I was burned by SimCity therefore I'm never pre-ordering again. The streams do look impressive though so I'm hoping that this will be a success.

I dodged the bullet and managed to wait and see with Sim City, the game that Burned me was the last game that Egosoft released.

What is the difference between Deluxe and Standard versions? Is there planned DLC for the game or is it more of a Pre-Order bonus type thing?

The pre-order bonuses are even worse but at least they aren't really an added cost.

I'm not sure what their stance will be on people creating their own versions of those monuments for steam workshop.

Like most city builder games, this one seems to suffer from what I am calling the "American Intersection Problem" - which is that every single road junction gets created with "stop signs" and pedestrian crossings, meaning that there is never a decent flow of traffic, as there is no "main" road.

Also, the comparable sizes of the roads and buildings seems to be really out of whack.

Yeah I just tried both versions in the normal store and both versions in the VIP store.

Seems the OcUK voucher doesn't work anymore.

*edit* Also tried another 23% voucher, also didn't work. Maybe they have stopped applying the discounts for this game?
