Civic EP3 Type R - Differences on 30th anni ?

JDM White > Milano Red + Powder Coated OEM Wheels > Nighthawk Black > ...................... Cosmic Grey > ........... Satin Silver

:)

That is exactly my rankings aswell... but IIRC they don't do a JDM White? Respray?

Plus, what colour do you powder coat the wheels? (stock wheels?) and what about the brakes? Power coat them white?

:)

They don't sell a white CTR in this country - only the Japanese Imports are available in white - hence JDM :)

Sorry, yes forgot to add 'white' in that sentence :)

Jap import in white went past me the other day, looks so amazing. Much better specced car too, more like a DC5 in a different shell.

If you had the choice of either a CTR anni or a CTR 04 plate, which would you go for?

Anni =
Recaro Leather seats and other limited edition gubbings like carpets
Will hold its price as limited edition
Tints as standard
momo steering wheel

04 plate =
Lighter flywheel and 0.2s quicker 0-60
Tweaked suspension and handling
Body facelift - just front bumper?

Anni.

Facelifts don't look better imo (I used to have an 04 Cosmic too). The rear lights on the pre-facelift are less Lexus-style too.

The Anni I looked at was £9000... in very good nick, but is that a good price?

I am now very tempted by red... but only with the anni window tints.

£9K seems like an OK price. What is the mileage?

I would just buy a vanilla CTR, which is to all intents and purposes the same car and save some monies. You can pick up a MOMO steering wheel (which isn't much different to the standard CTR wheel, just less panels of leather and is the same as that from the DC5) for relative peanuts at CTRO, and you can sometimes find the seats aswell for ~£500.

PS if you buy a red one, it's the law to powdercoat the wheels white.

Another difference I can't be arsed to check whether anybody has mentioned is that the pre-facelift cars have better/lighter wheels that are cast by Enkei.

I am tempted by this one..... yet I don't want to be spending that kind of money on it. So just going to wait and see, it's a toss up between this and a VX220 at the moment!

I get funny feelings every time I see a Milano with white wheels. Yum

That said, NHB looks very good with them too. Mine is Satin Silver, which subsequently looks gash with white wheels.

Obviously the VX220 is far, far better a drivers car, but the CTR will be a lot easier to live with in practicality terms at least.

If I was in your position in life, I'd find it very hard not to look seriously at the VX220. Just will be a PITA if you need to lug anything around. I'd also find it very hard to drop £10K+ on a CTR, given that you can easily find a good older one for £2-3K less. That Milano red one though, lovely.

I have no need to transport anything but myself. On the very rare occasion I give my brother/mate a lift. So why do I need a boot or 5 seats!

All I need is my gym bag and sat Nav and I am set for work. I have a journey of about 25-30 minutes consisting of either dual carriageway or back roads. The back roads are fun twisties with occasional straight NSL. I follow a Z4 with the top down daily and he has the right idea.

At my age and current situation, I have no need for luxuries - For example I don't use the cupholders or AC in my Golf, I prefer windows down. So I will find it hard to put down £10,000 on a type R over a VX220. They are both group 17 insurance which will hammer me either way.

hmmm
