CIVIC TYPE R R.I.P

What's "GAP"?

Also, amendment to my above comment. I just looked up my map and Charlton road is a LOT longer that I thought and not all of it is residential, a lot of it is open A road.

Still, must have been driving like a willy in order to do that much damage.

he tried avoiding it, he wasnt exactly sure what it was at first, the car started fish tailing and before he could try correctin it. It did a 360 on him also it was wet aswell apparently
You missed the diesel on the road as well!

Gap fills the “Gap” between what the insurance give you and what you owe on the car

Please don't come in Motors posting crap like that, we (we being the motors regulars) don't want it turning into GD's usual low quality of posting.

Hi there

Quite some time ago when I had the 3000GT I saw a badger in the road on the A34, I was pushing somewhere between 60-80mph and its was dark/damp conditions with oncoming traffic. So I positioned car best and hit the badger with the left hand side of the car. What a bang it went with, I thought something was definetely broken. Though it seemed to drive perfectly, got to petrol station did visual check and to my amazement not a single mark on the car. Obviously the angle the front apron hit the badger must not have caused any damage but I definetely finished it off as both wheels went over it. Can't say I had any issues with control but the 3000GT is AWD/4WD so no doubt helped. Following morning poor badger had managed to make it to the centre of the road but died or had been hit by other vehicles which finished it off.

I guess I was just lucky to not have a big repair bill as even the active aero's still worked fine. :)

That Civic looks battered, but maybe its repairable if the chassis aint bent. Still as already mentioned he must have been doing well over the limit to cause that much damage after doing a full spin, as spinning out kills most of your speed so to still have that damage I'd say is a sure sign of too much speed for the road conditions and thats the result for you.

Thanks guys , im sorry it happened with the car... was just trying to put some humour into the thread. If someone was injured or dead then it would've been a different type of post.

Carry on

Charlton road is mainly a heavily parked up 30Mph residential road?

He must have been driving like a ****.

not all of it, it goes from the high street, all the way up past the park (on your left) and into a lane onto whitchurch iirc.
no doubt he was ****ing around in the lane.

How do you manage to spin one of the best handling cars available today? It's beyond me.

He must have been doing some speed at high revs to cause the car to fishtail/spin. Thankfully no one was hurt by the sounds of it, but he will soon learn! Also lucky for him he has his insurance!

Have you driven one with the stock Bridgestone RE040's on a wet road?

I had my doubt on wether this was an insurance job aswell tbh, but the bloke who owns the car just is not the type to take the risk. Also considering the work involved battering the car, he would have been better off burning it out if he was gonna do a scam.

How could anyone over look the fact DSC kicked in, he also tried to compensate and he ended up in the ditch *.

*I love you really fox

Simple answer to that surely is not to drive stupidly if it's wet?

All performance cars come with some sort of tyre designed to work better in the dry. If you ignore that fact and know your tyres won't work in the wet, you're your cars worst enemy.
