CIVIC TYPE R R.I.P

Ah a typical case of weight transfer....

Needed to hit the accelerator to regain control once it started fishtailing...

Takes balls to do it tho.... instinct is to brake...

I've driven a CTR fast (funnily enough I was in one today) and the backend does seem to be pretty light and is quite easy to make it step out.

Anyone that was silly enough to buy one deserves to crash it. ;) The interiors are nassssstay!

Not really no, it just sounds like you didn't know what you were talking about

You are always so confrontational aint you? Every post I seem to read of yours is like this. Sorry if he affended you because you have a full setup of stock Brembos on your Leon. Sacre blue at the thought of a Saxo having Brembos!

It was never supposed to be the starship enterprise, it's more a track car first then a road car. Most track cars don't have much interior at all.

Rear end can get light if the owner has over pressured the rear tyres, plus they come with Bridgestone Pot 040's as standard which have a reputation for being rubbish in the wet & cooler months but to be fair they are an extremely hard walled summer tyre & owners should be aware of this, anyhow even Bridgestone themselves don't recommend 040's for the R's anymore they recommend the 050's which I believe address some of the issue's with the 040's. Basically you've got to drive it like a granny during winter or change your tyres & still take things a bit easier.

WTF?

I know the guy IRL, I know the saxo (and owner) IRL, I knew it didn't have brembos.

He hasn't OFFENDED me in the slightest, if you don't like how I post, use the ignore feature of the forums.

Sacré bleu at the thought of someone not agreeing with a statement on OcUK forums!

Why didnt he just slam on the brakes and Nail the Badger at the slowest speed possible?

You should never ever swerve an animal, its just too dangerous and things like that happens  (unless its a wombat, always avoid them unless you want to be sitting upside down :p )

Did he cry when he crashed it? Did he cry when he saw the damage? did he cry when he saw the insurance... i think i may have!!!!

Well if your gunning it that hard then you've already made the decision to take a risk with the speed as we all know accidents happen becuase we can't control everything around us. So you shouldn't be that upset when you **** in the wind and get a bit wet...

The size of an animal doesn't always dictate the damage, as posted a badger can make a mess where as my dad hit a deer at a healthy 60 and the only casualty was a small crack on the bumper (with a bit of deer sticking out of it) a cracked head light and venison burgers a plenty. It still had the cracked bumper with optional deer included when he sold the car last year. The same deer was well known for jumping out infront of cars and had hit quite a few of them and survived.

TBH I would be very suprised if the car is a right off, the roof looks straight and the suspension where the damage is also looks straight so the chances are the chassis is fine. The car is also pretty new so probaly cheaper for the insurance to repair it, looks like around 4-5k damage to me assuming the chassis/suspension is OK.

it is a anniversary edition

Sorry if this has been mentioned, it is a premier, not 30th AE. These were only available pre-facelift.

I still fail to see how anyone can stack a CTR unless they are driving at completely stupid speeds. I have pushed my CTR to my own personal limit many times and never had the back end wobble on me.

If I was in his position, as I have been with similar vermin / wildlife, I just drive straight at them. My life is more important to me than the animal.

Even with the Pots on, it still takes a fair bit of speed, sharp cornering to lose the car, although they are hardwalled summer tyres.
