claiming bank changes!

In my own cases with the A&L unfortunately i had a premierdirect account but i forgot i had to continually pay £500 into the account and if you dont you get charged £5. And because i didnt bother about the account (ie pay money etc into it) the charges just piled up month after month. Without me going anywhere near it.

Basically its extremely easy to accrue lots of debt without actually spending any money lol. I'm not that bothered because i'm very confident i'll get the money back.

So that is entirely your fault. Either lazyness, not caring or not reading the T&Cs, I don't understand how you blame the banks for that?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but i was recently charged £38 from Natwest because my standing order of £5 was not able to be taken from my current account and put into my savings account.

Being charged £38 because they couldn't transfer £5 of my OWN money, that's insanity.

Also, is it worth getting all of your statements to get the charges added up, or once you send a letter asking for them, will they work it all out for you? I'm guessing the former, yes?

Another thing, i haven't got an overdraft but i am £109 overdrawn, this month alone because i started a new job, i have been charged 3 lots of £38, and £76 as well, and another £38 for being overdrawn, give me my fees back and i'll be £119 in credit lol.

Budget management isn't an easy task. Yes, you can know your basic incomings and outgoings and that's ok. But a job change or an unforeseen emergency, even though you've budgeted that might go over by a small amount. This small amount can cost you upwards of £70. £70 might seem small, but as you may cut it so fine money wise you might never get that £70 and keep being overdrawn and charged every month.

Not everyone can earn £20k plus but they have to have a decent roof over their head, food to eat and some basic luxuries to keep sane.

I'd like to claim my bank charges. Ran up a hell of a lot as a student.

I've just rung Vanquis credit car who are sending me a list of charges and the same as capital one, didn't pay a penny for these so i'm happy so far :).

Agree with what you say, tis why i changed jobs, so instead of earning £20k a year max, i'm now earning £35k+, if i do well i will be earning over £40k, so it's not like i'm sitting here and not doing anything about it, i changed my job for the better.

Claim your charges back mate, i've put mine off for way to long, and now i'm going to do something about it.

Thats even worse, i bet you could always find the money for that next pint or big night out? I did seven years as a student and ran up £25 worth of bank charges for bouncing a cheque which was obviously my fault as I wrote it when there wasn't enough money in my account. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions it wasn't like you were stuggling to bring up 3 kids when you were made redundant out of the blue and couldn't get a new job?

So you've gone back 2 years and picked out at least one satirical thread made as a result of another posted the same day. Congratulations. You win.

I'd post yours but there are too many search results. Including ebay threads. And stupid threads crying about how you cant have a cash refund for something you bought with gift vouchers.

Both my wife and I have been overdrawn by small amounts on our Co-Op accounts and not been charged. They must have some minimum amount before they charge you. Either that or we're in good standing with them given our joint account with all our cash in...

Still got the Lupo and the 106, Aruffell?

Yep, 106 is all going good, and the lupo is sitting on my mates farm so that when i have some spare cash i can get it taxed and mot'd and sold.

Got a company car now, so can stop using the 106 as it chugs fuel.
