Clarkson get's some free poo

id say 75% (random number) of the problem is down to us cutting tree's down and ruining the carbon "life cycle" more than it is burning so much fuel.

:confused: it's part of the carbon cycle.. CO2 goes into trees and makes them grow big and strong (;)), then either the trees die and decompose, releasing CO2 into the atmosphere where new trees use it to grow big and strong, or the trees are cut down and burned, releasing CO2 into the atmosphere where new trees use it grow big and strong.

The problem comes when trees are cut down but not replanted. There's really nothing wrong with sustainable deforestation, when new trees are planted in place of the ones cut down.

The carbon cycle issue with regards to trees is not that relevant to the problem, the primary cause of which is the released of trapped carbon through combustion (primarily from fossil fuels). This is carbon that had previously been effectively removed from the carbon cycle equilibrium.

You're either incredible ignorant or incredibly stupid, I can't quite decide which :/

How can you honestly sit there and state that humans have a right to dump manure on someones personal property!!!

Because this is england not soviet russia, I'm for a free england, jeremy goes round preaching about the government should not interfere and such, thats free england. How do you not get that?
It is your right as an a occupant of england, a free country, to go and dump **** on someones driveway in protest if you so wish.

It's not destruction of property or vandlism is it? It's an inconvinience, a shovel and a brush and the driveway is like new again.
Burning someones house down is different, thats arson, not protest. It's destruction of property.

Ah, so it's the second one.

How is that stupid, because I believe in protest and freedom?

And it is your right, the only laws being violated there would be trespassing. The copper that classes it as vandalism is a moron because it's not damaging or defacing.

Because your one of these morons with no life experience who use 'freedom of speech' and 'free country' as an excuse to run riot and to do what you want. Might be a free country but if I find you taking a dump on my drive, you'll be in for a bit of a surprise.

This is the main problem, CO2 that's been trapped and inert for thousands of centuries is being released. CO2 is released from the earth naturally but the balance seems to have been maintained due to the rain forests. The rain forests have been the main contributor in cycling CO2 but with de-forestation there'll come a tipping point - that is if we haven't gone over this tipping point already.

Oh and about the original story, wouldn't it really be nice if 1 person were the cause of these problems  would be so much easier to fix it were the case.

Yeah, because I don't want to fall in line with a load of boring right wingers, I want to run riot, i'll have my views heard.

I'll do what I want, you do what you want. But at the end of the day you'll never shut me up or stop me protesting.

I'm suggesting we do it in a more intelligent, well thought out manner. What you're suggesting will only harm whatever cause you have.

Going by your logic, I'll play my 'tard card too.

Living in a free country and being on his land Clarkson should have taken his shotgun and shot the peasents who were trespassing. This could be justifiable by living in a free country and being classed a protest.

*Awaits the eco-hippy to twist his own logic to defend this*

YEAH BUT THAT'S BREAKING THE LAW LOLOL.

Mind you so is trespassing and defecating in public.

Tresspassing isn't a criminal offence.
It is a tort, you can therefore, sue the protestor. Police cannot arrest you for tresspassing. The can occasionally move you along, if there is sufficient grounds for it.

Murder however is a criminal offence.

Also, I love how these peasents like to protest against people like Clarkson. The girl who leads the group is granddaughter of a millionaire family in England who own a string of stately homes and such. Love how she doesn't protest against THEIR 'carbon footprint'. You can be assured they'll be driven around in their own private fleet of Rolls Royces and Bentleys too.

But she won't protest against them will she! That would probably make her lose her fortune she gets given some day.

Should toss them all in the ocean

Ever thought what it would be like clearing manure off a *gravel* driveway? You can't sweep it off. You can't wash it off. You'd have to shovel it off, then shovel off the gravel, then shovel off the top soil, replace the top soil with new and clean and shovel back on the gravel. At great expense. Vandalism.
