Close to purchase - final components opinions?

That's cause the cashback offer only started 3 days ago so it is impossible to currently make a claim. Hence why you get this message if you click on the claim form link:

The claim form is currently closed, the online form will be available after 30 days from your date of purchase. Please note that claims must be submitted no sooner than 30 days and no later than 60 days from your invoice date. Please return to the online claim form after 30 days from your purchase date in order to submit your claim.

Right. It is confusing that message. It implies that the website somehow knows your purchase date and therefore when to open the form.

But if the offer only started 3 days ago then that makes sense. I see this was what people were alluding to above so sorry for being thick.

Does anyone know if saturday counts as a working day for the free DPD delivery option?

Because of my card messing up I wasn't able to order last night and missed the 4pm cut off today for delivery tomorrow. But if I order it now will it be delivered saturday or monday?

Wait for it to be open first 30days after the 13th.

Then see what appears in terms of claim form and entering dates.

For Saturday delivery you must select Saturday delivery, free delivery = standard next working day.

So you order Friday with free delivery you get Monday.

Danlightbulb have you read any of the comments! I mentioned ages ago that they probably open it 30 days after the start date of the promotion. Just write it your calendar or set a reminder on your phone. I've done a couple of claimbacks before and they are pretty straightforward (just don't delete the email with your electronic invoice!)

Yeah sorry I can see now you said that earlier - I hadn't clocked it properly, or that the promotion had only just started.

Is there any reason that the motherboard+cpu bundle on sale here would not qualify for the rebate offer, perhaps because they weren't bought separately but as one item?

From the cashback website "Purchases must be made on the same date and from the same place"

I can see no reason why it would be a problem, don't worry about it, at the end of the day you weren't going to get this money back unless you knew about the promotion (no worries by the way ;))

Is it worth an extra tenner over the fan cpu cooler I was going to buy to get an AIO watercooler?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

In the lower price range air cooling gives better value and performance. If you are going to go for water, I would recommend getting 240mm+ radiator to see considerable performance/acoustic gains

Edit: You have got 160mm of clearance for a heatsink in your case so the larger air coolers will either be at the limit or over it. Therefore either stick with your air cooler or go for 240/280mm AIO

Ive ordered all my components! Looking forward to building it now.

One question. Is everything plug and play, or do i need to go into the bios after its built and start configuring lots of things? Will it switch on and power up without any messing?

From your specs it should really be plug and pay, there are often issues when building a new system that can require some trouble shooting in order to pin down, particularly when you've never built a system before or have very limited experience. But, just remember to be patient and that you have OCuk for help.

I seriously hope you have a fun and stress free build!

Usually yes. If you plugged everything into the right sockets then when you hit the power button everything should 'spin' up (fans, drives etc). Of course, without an operating system installed it won't get far, but you'll be able to check everything is working.

It's still a good idea to pop into BIOS, even if you don't plan to change any settings initially. This is because you need to go into the monitoring section of your BIOS and make sure that your temperatures are stable, fans are working, all your memory and drives are detected etc etc.

Have fun!
