Clothes: Potential Buys Advice

Just read the OP again. How can a hoodie that looks like it's been designed by a blind, drunk, artistically-challenged 3 year old be considered a good thing to introduce into your life (assuming you're not a self-loathing nutjob)?

Jury's still out - opinions?

I'm imagining the OP thinking about this quite seriously and with no trace of intended humour or irony. And I am laughing and I cannot stop :D

lol yeah lets all look this stupid:eek::eek:

So people who wear chinos and shop at River Island are "bummers"? :/

And no, you cannot get similar clothes at Asda/Tesco for the quality and fit. Out of curiosity have you tried shopping for clothes besides a supermarket? It is entirely your decision but i was wondering whether you had something to compare it to rather than instantly dismissing things. :)
I have bought clothes from highstreet shops before, same quality, 5x the price.
I know a guy who used to do buying for Nike, the standard tshirts they buy in cost less than half a cent each.

All thats missing is a label, and I really fail to see how branded clothes are superior. I don't want to pay for some companies marketing campaign, to me that just gives the impression I'm a chump.

And river island is a proper bummers shop, all indie kids with their tight cardigans and daps.
Out of curiousity, have you ever worn a quality bit of fabric. And not a cheap shirt with a designer logo I mean for example a custom tailored pair of trousers or shirt.

For the record, you could wear anything with that hoody, it'd still look like your nan made it from a set of old curtains.

I work for ASOS so i have seen all types of samples coming through my department.

That's your decision at the end of the day and Nike is a known example of having not exactly amazing quality with regards to clothes. And many brands share the same factories but it doesn't mean they all come out the production end exactly the same.

Was the question directed at me regarding the quality bit of fabric? If so, then yes i have. And i am fully aware that there are £150 shirts around that can feel awful. I recently tried on an Ezra Wine shirt (£145) and i wasn't at all impressed with it. My Penfield shirt which is half the price felt much better made and fitted well.

The hoodie is indeed, bleh! :o

This is my point, I'll never pay for a name.

I have no aversion to paying for quality fabrics but if you pay for a brand name to seem fashionable when unbranded clothes look just as good and last just as long then you're a chump.

Out of curiosity (there's that line again!), if you went to a random shop and you saw 2 shirts for sale.

Shirt 1) Good fabric, fits nicely and is £45.
Shirt 2) A brand you don't know, £60 and feels/fits just as nice as Shirt 1.

If i told you Shirt 1 was actually from Topman, would you dismiss it as it is more commercial than say Bellfield?

Some brands aren't all bad! :)

Whats the stitching like? And dyes, what can I wash them at?

Two identical shirts, I'll go cheaper.
However I severely doubt a top man shirt comes close to the right quality for the money. By design these types of places design their clothes to be obsolete because they're "out of fashion" in a few months

I've had bits of clothing for years, worn regularly still in pristine condition.

They are the same. Why do you need to ask such random questions? :p

Either way, i'm not a logo/designer person but interestingly there are a few gems in River Island/Topman etc. :)

No response from the OP regarding the comments yet.

Edit: Seen your edit - you'd be surprised. OCUK shopping trip...? :D

Both are pretty minging. No way would I spend £70 on a pair of chinos, that can nearly get you a nice pair of jeans.

Which I need to get more of, stupid losing bodyfat nonsense!

Chinos - If you're a student. But, then you'll look like all the other students. Clones are naff :p Fully grown man? not a chance.

Hoodie is dire.
