COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

You didn't play MW2 then?

MW2 was a total disgrace that is better forgotten, Quickscoping was never an issue in CoD4, and it won't be in this. Anyway, quickscoping works with the autoaim on consoles, so you have either watched aimbotters on MW2 (shock horror), or have watched people being quick at scoping, aiming and shooting. Very big difference between 'quickscoping' and being good.

"Quickscoping" is very real in MW2 on the PC, it is also very lame (imo), with the right class/perks you gain a console-like auto aim, target in the centre of the screen, start to scope and fire, no real aiming required, i have seen and been on the end of some "amazing" quickscope shots, many of which were in league matches running either XRAY or UAC2 anticheat, i know the anti-cheat programs are not 100% infallable, but i am in no way accusing many of these players of cheating, they are just using a feature in the game to their advantage, many if not all the players that i know that are good at doing this i am sure will get called hackers in public games, seeing a killcam of someone using this is frustrating to say the least as it does look dodgy as hell and i am certainly glad that Treyarch have seen fit to stop "quickscoping" in Black Ops.

speaking of mw2 I played it tonight for about 45mins for the first time in about a year. I learned something very quickly, I still have no tolerance for nube-tubers. Had to rage quit in the end, remember why I stopped playing it now.

I'm sorry to post about this again, but do people honestly think if they order from Play they will see it on Tuesday or sooner? They are well know for poor delivery times on pre-orders, as in 3 days late.

exactly i made that mistake back in 2003 when i ordered a game from play and it didnt arrive till ages after release date

thought it would have been common knowledge by now

guess it all depends if the £1 or so saving is worth getting it 3 days late :D

So, so, so true. Well done sir!

QS is an exploit IMO and just as bad as tubing. In fact it's probably worse as QSers seem to consider themselves some kind of elite players:rolleyes:

play do deliver late sometimes thats why i went steam . at time i purchased it was wait with fingers crossed save a fiver and hope its there for start or just pay fiver more and get on steam straight away (downloaded in 30 mins of purchase) no brainer to me :p

as for quick scoping its a skill it isnt a two minute learn and ruin people it takes along while of practice. this is why everyone doesnt do it. comparing it to noob tubing is silly cause anyone can do that and the area is a lot bigger its not even close.

My play pre order has been packing for 2 days.... so i guess im getting it late.

Not too fussed busy as hell anyway at the moment.

What are the chances Tesco delivering on time?

Worse than the chances of hell freezing over. My status has been stuck on 'Awaiting Despatch' for a few days and their website still states "Despatched: Within 4 to 5 Working Days" which hasn't changed the past 3-4 days. I ordered 'Blur' from Tesco and got it on release day so figured they were alright.

Had a tiff with 'em on the phones the other day...

Me: "Hi there, can you tell me when my game will be despatched and delivered?"
Muppet: "It will be despatched on 10th November, Sir"
Me: "WHAT? It gets released on the 9th!"
Muppet: "It's a popular game so it's getting sold out fast"
Me: "But i've had it on pre-order with you since mid-August... not first come first serve?"
Muppets: "I don't know what to say, but you should have the game by next Thursday"
Me: "The whole point of pre-ordering is to guarantee a copy of the game for it's release. Why offer pre-orders when you can't fulfil them for several days after release?"
Muppets: "Sorry, Sir. *hangs up phone*"

GRRR... Last time I shop with Tesco for game pre-orders. I'm not a hardcore gamer at all - played about 50-75 hours on my 360 this year, played even less on my PC. But i'm off work next week so really wanted to play this :D

I just got my copy delivered just now - I take it I can't play multiplayer - but can i play singleplayer?

Edit: Just tried and locked with steam - doh!

Damn, my post has just been and gone and nothing! And I know it was shipped Thursday. Ah well, wouldn't of let me play anyway, but would have been nice to have it ready to go.

i remember when MW2 came out those people who bought the retail could unlock it on the Tuesday while those who bought it via steam had to wait till Friday before they could unlock

are you worried it might be same

Steam currently shows that it unlocks at midnight on monday/tuesday. Which is nice if it does as most games get released on Tuesday in yankland but are locked here until Friday when the games get released. So seems activision are doing a world wide release on the same day, lets just hope steam behaves! (mind you, i can't really afford the game

its simultanious unlock as it goes through steam whether you have retail disk or not.

so you playing it same time as a steam person even if you have disk

I'm pretty sure its a legal requirement to send it two days before the games release. Trading standards stuff I'd guess or w/e, phone up and tell them that, if all else fails, go into tesco and move all the stuff around.

In same boat as you, did the preorder way back in August. Sent them an email yesterday and got the reply today

"Good afternoon,

Thank you for your e-mail.

When you purchase a pre-order item with us we aim to have it delivered on or before the release date. I can see that you order is ready for dispatch and should be sent soon so that it arrives in time for the release.

I hope that this information helps and that you receive your game soon. If there is anything else I can do in the meantime please just let me know."

Have to wait and see what happens monday...
