I've just been using a scoped MP40 and that does fine at extreme range, I got fed up of trying to use the rifles and you see a lot of people just using the type 9 machine gun and spraying across the map and getting kills

Yeah the M16 is a decent rifle the SAS use. They do not use Tommy guns as sniper rifles...

As for perks, completely depends on whos playing. Steady aim is a must on the SMGs, no need to lift the gun to aim then. Never use martydom or last stand though, if i have a rifle i go for extreme cond or dead silence. Never bother with iron lungs for sniping.

Stopping power or UAV depending on hardcore or not, then for 1 - claymores most the time.

Exactly, sure the scoped springfield is nice if you can get that one shot to hit but you're better off just firing a few rounds from an automatic right now.

well if you look at the stats of the weapons then the thompson and bar compare to the m16 in cod4, wtf

the same thing happens in cod4 as it does in waw, but waw is a little more skillful to make the shots count

Yeah agreed, but on normal it won't kill you instantly at range. You'd have chance to move to cover.

Find out the real points scores etc for the weapons. You'll soon discover those stats in the game selection menus are pretty much a waste of time

I was going to play it last night but I do plan on logging back in tonight, going to see if I can finish the prestige ranks off before WaW comes out

Playing this beta has really made me want to play CoD4 again.

I really like it, but when you're on a team of numpties that don't bother trying to cap the flags it can get irritating. Like last night I was the only person on our team bothering to capture the points, made for a frustrating game while everyone else was just going for kills.

yeah will be a good team game i liked it as well but also found most were interested in getting kills rather than the flags
