COD2 - 'The Tiger' lever

Yeah I was going the wrong way I was going round to the left following my men when I should have been going to the right.

The only other level i've really struggled with is the second stage in the tank. Trying to take out the two artillery cannons and 5 panzers in one go without getting hit.

I prefer this SP game to Cod4 by a mile. COD4 on Vet was like fighting terminators that knew you were coming round the corner before you did.

I found it easier, didnt mean I prefered it.

Wait till you get to the Tiger level though.

Its slightly easier in you can take a tad more damage than Vet on cod4. It doesn't have as much of the constant enemy respawning either which is great.

Not looking forward to that tiger level or hill 400 I hear so much about.

Its not actually that tough, but you should have played through the game on normal first I think - it makes it so much easier than diving straight into veteran, especially for bits like the hill 400

Yeah you are probably right next time I will do that it helps with the level layouts and knowing what your supposed to do. It took me a while to find where fire off the green smoke in the normandy level. If I'd done it on easy first I'd have known the layout.

Currently working my way through clearing the houses on the last stage of the normany level, silo. Very similar to the level on cod 4 where you have to clear the buildings to try to find that terrorist.

Sadly no heli to call in for help this time :)

ARHHH i cant wait for hill 400, it was so fun on pc and it makes me feel like a hero knowing i defended my fellow troops from so many waves :D

Sniping the mortar teams wasn't too bad. Although Im quite handy with sniping, I'll give it another go tomorrow after the GP I think.

I've just got to this bit, wow that's good. I worked down to the 1.15 checkpoint with hindsight I'd have brought along a better secondary weapon. The re-load on the sniper seems to take half an hour when your desperate to pop a few heads.

Yeah I did them in a pattern that seemed to work, plus once I realised you get more grenades as you clear each building I fragged the hell out of them.

Right i've done it again but i'm scared of the ladder. Do approach it forwards or backwards?

No idea - Jump and hope :D

I got a bit stuck going from A to F (as recommended). Got there in the end though.

You best not finish this game before me!

To start with I tried A to B and got slaughtered even using smoke.

Haha you should be alright i'm back at work tommorow so wont be able to play it again til sunday. That then gives me a 4 day run at the last levels before GHWT and Gears. :)

Then I'm retiring from COD veteran, for a few extra points it isn't worth my sanity at times.

Yeah the long fights through the alleys with snipers in buildings and loads of enemies that come from all sides. Sometimes long fights between checkpoints. One took me about 45 minutes of picking people off til it checkpointed. You also start in the vehicle and you get ambushed. Loads of enemies high above you on all sides. Thats was tough to get started.

That was a nightmare, once you actually made it to the gate you had to wait for some 'bloody W*****' to cut the padlock :D

I'm a stage behind Si now, just gonna get up to that tiger level then save my sanity for next week. A bit bored of clearing buildings now. I hate having to go upstairs. I wan't to point like a good general and tell my men to go up first :(

I must let out a big sigh every time that checkpoint comes up on the screen :)

I was gonna have a go tonight, stuck Gh2 in though and cant put it down!

Just getting through this level si, first level i've noticed that some of the germans are black. Never noticed a single black soilder in any footage i've seen of the germans in the 2nd WW.

The church to clear then checkpoint E which I'm now dreading.

You'll probably fly straight thru it.

Im on the last boss of Too Human so once that is out the way I will have another go. Ive not tried since creating this thread

Church was just as hard for me as the headquaters were, just stick to the tactic of popping your head round the door and slowley picking them off then popping back - they WILL come charging through the door though so watch out :)

I have only managed to get in the house once, the church I did first try. The HQ i'm going down the left killing the two that come at you. I throw two smokes to the left of the building and run to the back wall that surrounds the house. I lie down and wait for my team to come round to back me up.

The respawning waves of enemy is then luck when I stand up where they are coming from. Sometimes I've seen 8 or so enemy in the first room sometimes one or two. Getting in stops the spawning and i've managed to time it right once.

I then killed two upstairs, then made a mistake of lobbing a grenade up the stairs. This sent them running at me which tbh i wasn't ready or expecting.
