Looks awesome though I'll also probs try hold out until xmas and see if I can get it reduced.. (I know it probably won't be but it'll be a nice exercise in self restraint!)
I am sorry but what are you wanting?....to me this game looks lovley - isnt it about the gameplay. I really do feel that graphics have gotten to a stage where they really dont need to get any better. To me this game looks like it takes the fun that is COD4 and builds on it!.........
Remember the trailer is for the 360 version (you can see the on-screen button prompts on the airstrike part) so the PC will potentially look much better.
imo it looks worse, cod4 had a really lived in feeling, bits and bobs were cluttered about the maps and there was always a thin dust/sand haze, this just looks too clean
edit: on a second look i think i perhaps over exaggerated, but something is definitely missing...
Looks like public servers are going to be as big of a cluster **** as ever... they also still have weapons that can fire their entire clip with deadly accuracy from one end of a map to the other with their fancy 'zero-recoil' system. Roll on promod.
To top it off hardcore probably has nothing balanced around it again. It will just be an arbitrary health reduction which makes most of the weapons not work with it since one shot kills from guns that shoot a trillion bullets per second with no recoil in a game that is little more than Quake3 with AK47s (not to worry apparently that's 'tactical'). Most of the perks will become either god like or useless. But low skill players can spray and land random shots for kills so they will flock to it like flies around ****, since the vast majority of gamers are low skill we can look forward to another en-masse hardcore server dogging frenzy.
I don't even really like promod if I'm honest. Everytime I played that I just got the sinking feeling like a game had been done better than this before, then realised CS was in my steam list.
CoD now seems to present me with a choice.
Give up on my nerd rage fuelled elitist ways, play public, run around spraying, throwing the mini-nuke grenades in random directions, get the way to easy to attain kill streak machines of death and then point to my skewed to extent of being meaningless K : D ratio and pat myself on the back because I had 'fun'.
Or avoid it because I feel way too old to get into a competitive scene again, of which there are just much better games out there to do that with.
Think I will give the fun route a bash, but may require intensive personality and anger management work
All I did with COD4 was play for the fun element (ok it was on the 360) but damn, it's so frenzied it's addictive, had me for hours playing with a big stupid grin on my face.
