*** Colin McRae DiRT 2 ***

Oh, the handling in dirt was not that great I will agree, I just loved it as it was a new age console rally game. But the handling in the demo for dirt 2 was twitchy to me, specialy the hill climb, a very slight tap on the joy stick in any direction when at speed would cause the car to swerve violently in said direction.

Was it me or is it something to get used to?

Rallying is more about steering with the power as it is about the wheel, if you get me. High speed lurch into a corner is going to cost you time.

I've got no problems with the handling at all, it feels quite authentic to me and I suffer from epic gamer rage when things get tedious. The rally stages on savage difficulty are silly hard though.

Never noticed it myself, you are constantly correcting the car though, but in rallying that is to be expected.

Right, yes or no?

I LOVE Grid, LOVED Dirt, will I love Dirt 2?

Is the handling as bad as it was in the demo? Twitchy?

Is this worth 40 quid?

Come on, whats the verdict?

Maybe it's you that's the problem, and should play it a bit more?

I could play it fine with the pad but i'm having too much fun with the wheel at the moment.

Well, I will try the least expensive way first then (have to watch expenditure as xmas is just round the corner *cry*) and rent it tonight, give it a go and see what the survey says :)

I'm up to level 30 now, done all 3 X-Games things and the Colin McRae challenge, spent most of yesterday afternoon playing it.

Ditto. Putting me off a bit now as the only incentive to carry on with the other 52% of my DiRT 2 is 2 or 3 achievements. :(

you get the rs200 when you win the rallycross world tour :)

the only world tour that doesn't unlock a car is the rally one, that's the only one i havent done yet, lol.

Got this on Saturday, along with Killzone 2, only for my PS3 to die (yet again).... so until I get my replacement on Wed I'll have to wait to play this...

does sound good so looking forward to giving it a blast this week...:)

Dedication (80g) and win all world tour events (50g)...

RS200? Not got that yet :(

Yep. Got the World Tour one & will do the "drive all cars" one along the way, same for "In His Footsteps" the rest are online ones and 2 cannot be done at the moment because DiRTNET is b0rked!

Really enjoying this so far. Yes, it is arcadey (less so that Sega Rally though, for example) but the handling/physics are loads better than the first Dirt. The cars do seem to have more weight, the brakes don't stop you on a six pence now, the acceleration is more realistic and yes the cars are more twitchy, but so they should be... So far Codemasters, well done.

I can't find the system requirements for this game; does anyone know what they are?

I'm wondering if my rig is upto running the game at 1920x1200 and at max settings (or at least close to them). I'd like a little AA, too.

Will I be asking too much of my rig? (see spec below)

Q6600 @ 3GHz
8GB DDR2 @ 1000MHz
8800GTX (overclocked by about 15%)

I think you need either a PS3 or a 360.

Oh, and a TV.;)
