Colonic Irrigation

my mate has had it done. no idea why. in fact hes not my mate anymore :p

anyway he said they pumped what he thought was coffee up his jacksie until no more coffee would go in. he then had to sit on the toilet and have an non voluntary anal evacuation. then water was pumped up and out and with it came pieces of food he'd eaten 20 years ago, pieces from the board game operation, chewing gum, monopoly hotels etc

How much does something like this cost??:o:p

There's some benefit if you're really packed up or have a really crappy diet. One of those health programs had an obese lady on there who had it done, they got out a piece of pepper that had started fermenting inside her

Aw man I could've went my entire life without ever having to know that. You have turned me into a sad panda. :(

One of those quack pseudo-medical programs in which people who present themselves as doctors but have no real medical training try to scare the impressionable had an obese lady on there who had it done, they got out a piece of pepper that had started fermenting inside her

fixed your typo.

So what if she had a bit of undigested pepper inside her? And so what if it was been anaerobically decayed by microbes (that being what fermentation is)? It - almost certianly - would have been voided by the normal process of the body, and done absolutely no harm.

They probably talked about antioxidants too

What was this medical show with the pepper in question?

Just that it sounds like a Gillian McKeith production.

It was on Embarassing Illnesses iirc.

I'm pretty sure the man and the woman are propper Doctors. Also this wasn't just some bit of undigested food, it was relevant because she hadn't chewed it at all and it had just been floating around undigested inside her bowl for quite a suprisingly long time after she'd eaten the meal.

I'd have it done if it was free, i take a dump, then it feels like it's not all out, 5 minutes later i'm back on the toilet.
I usually take about 3-4 dumps a day, maybe my colon could do with a cleaning.

It's like having your ears syringed, you can hear clearer after that.
Except you're having a bit of hose shoved up your pooper, who cares, you're not doing it for sexual gratification.

If you haven't tried it i would recommend getting some Fybogel Hi-Fibre from the supermarket. It comes in sachets which you mix with water.

Since taking it regularly i've never had better digestive transit lol

I've thought about it, but wasn't able to find any solid medical evidence in favour of it. On the other side the people advocating it are the type of people I wouldn't trust to make me a cup of tea, never mind take control of my digestive system.

As attractive as the idea of nice clean insides, and all this mysterious gunk and parasites that are "poisoning" me gone... I think I'll wait until there's solid medical evidence that's it's beneficial. Until then, no chance.

Had it when i was about 13 or so. Nurse stuck a funnel iirc (really cant remember too well lol) and added warm water. Was told to go to the toilet and had a very runny poo for 10 mins or so. That was it.

Dont think i felt better but did feel really weird having that water up there.

That's an enema, as far as I'm aware. While colonic irrigation is done in the same way I think colonic irrigation is a little more thorough than that - at least the documentary I saw seemed to indicate that.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as dismissive. Just saying the "colonic irrigation" documentary the people doing it were very critical of enemas and attempting to say it was much more than that.

Perhaps some day Horizon will cover it and either debunk it or find there actually is some benefit.
