Combined Folding/Bully Biffa Event!

Just moved over 2XGTX460s and a PII 955 @3.4 GHz - good for about 26K PPD

My i7-920 @3.8 GHz should be finishing its bigadv this morning - Hopefully I can catch it before I go to work and change it over. That machine also has 2XGTX260s - Good for about 40K PPD

It is an impressive case but i wanted to get a feel for it by putting the gubbins in on air before i went ahead with watercooling. The front 3 140 fans the rear and top fans do make it quite good for air and the side panel is a mesh panel. It does not seem to cool 4 x gpu as well as the haf x so if i am going to use it am going to have to watercool right away.
I have the sr-2 board and 1 cpu so far the rest probably second week in january, so although its a shame to leave it sat there doing nothing i will make a start by mapping out the extra holes to drill for the mobo support and
run through the w/c options etc.
It's a massive project for me so i think the best way forward is slow and steady, on the plus side have spent the last few weeks braiding all the cables i will need theres definately a red theme going on :)
 
I'd replace the mesh with acrylic personally. You are losing the positive pressure effect with the mesh. Get rid of the cards and sell them to get the other CPU and water gubbins, they will only slow you down :)

Yup thats the plan 2 gpu down 6 to go and the 3 on rma will upgrade 2nd machine or or see if they will give me a store credit rather than get 3 new cards.
Think i will push and get the water stuff now and when i get back new years eve will start pounding mm, fingers crossed everything built up and running by 20th january or so. Then a week long test crunching seti and folding to get an idea of ppd and rac then figure out a good shareing timetable.
Have got an acrylic panel on order figured even if i was not 100% struck on the case i will feel different once its all up n running.
Fingers crossed the weather holds out driving to Scotland christmas eve, i can't wait to get back and get cracking :D
 
Well thats the last two BFG GTX260s removed and shipped to their new homes! Popped an old EVGA GTX260 192 65nm SSC in, see what that can do. Maybe if I fold it enough and it stops working on its own accord, EVGA will give me a nice GTX460! ;)

:eek:Alas tis too late you have been tried and found guilty....of something serious by these 12 good forum members tried and true :D



By way of punishment i reckon mr Biffa would engage old spanky into action, if it was upto me i punishment would be a little more direct :D
