Why do people get worked up over animals?....Lol at this western mentality. Dont mind me (or try to flame me) am only thinking out loud. :p

You live in a western country, get the hell over it.

We know you are black/african whatever, we dont need reminding every 10 minutes.

Ok, so i actually meant that ability to process pain into an emotion and therefore feel suffering.

Punch a baby then ask if it they remember it when they are older and it can't as it didn't have the ability of thought as it's brain isn't developed enough (lol we're discussing punching babys  ) so you could argue that it can't comprehend suffering just give a pre programmed reaction. If a human baby with a massivly larger brain doesn't have the ability to think in this way and be aware of what is happening then a baby bird surely can't.

Besides they wouldn't have felt pain from asphixiation and their brains are so small and aren't developed i doubt the birds were aware of any suffering :)

They don't need to process pain into an emotion, pain is suffering. Obviously someone isn't going to remember being punched 20 years ago....

Either way I find it disturbing.

Could be worse, while out on a walk, one of our dogs found a several day old dead cat and decided to roll in it. I don't think I recall anything smelling so foul. At least cats aren't disgusting...

Yup, can't stand cats for this very reason.

Ours likes to hunt and kill birds yet still expects me to feed its stupid ***.

After the last lot, I basically kicked its *** and told it if it wanted to hunt then it could hunt to live.

It failed miserably, and after two days of starvation I finally gave in and fed it.

I bloody hate cats.

It's natural instinct for a cat to hunt. Why starve it? More to the point, why own a cat if you can't be trusted to look after it?
