Command & Conquer 3 Demo, Next Week!

I had to switch to easy on campaign mode :(

I struggled the first time too, restarted after catching on with the gameplay a bit

You have to put the railguns on your tanks then it becomes a whole lot easier,

Have to say initial impressions are that i like it BUT Im a little dissapointed in the number of units, and the Sameyness of some of them.

Played Skirmish and the juggernaughts are kool but is really just a bigger tank, There is no long range arty units really, even the base defences seem a little week,

There isnt really another Tier to your units as you reach the top very quickly, And if the ion cannon fires as a base destroying weapon as in the Campaign level then thats the main tactic i suppose,

It looks like good old C&C pick up 'n' blow up fun but COH shows more tactics and better gameplay, Nevertheless this will get pre-ordered ad it is godd, and not as big a let down as supcom was ;)

Had a quick look at the demo, not really finding it hugely exciting yet....
Guess I'll need to give it a good go tomorrow morning, can't see it winning me away from Supreme Commander.

How does it run on the FX5200? If it's playable then that'll mean I can stick it on the laptop aswell as the gaming rig, loved getting mates round for network C&C, having it on 2 machines would just make it much easier.

wow after my 40-50 kbps downloading speed i turn my back for 40 mins to play some ff12 and to my surprise it finished, something gave my computer a big kick up the backside :P

Wow this demo is awesome.

Runs so well @ 1920x1200 with max gfx. So smooth unlike other recent PC games. EA have really done a good job on the programming this time.

Love the HD cut scenes and it has the same old C&C style to it. Familar yet new at the same time. The enhanced generals engine looks very good considering it is almost 4 years old.

Also has some typically hot C&C babes! Grace Park looks particular hot to me :D

EA... I hate to say it but... awesome job!

Seems like they have really pulled out all the stops this time. From the rather short demo at least this is looking to be another classic. Stunning graphics, good old fashioned C&C game play. Great return to the old way of things. I especially love the cheesy but awesome HD cut scenes! Fantastic!

For the record, running max everything in game and 8xAF forced from nvidia control panel. No lag, no slowdown, completely playable at all times. With a 7800GT! Can't believe this is the same engine from Renegade and Generals!

EDIT: I downloaded it in 15 mins at 1.2mb/s from ftp://ftp.multiplay.co.uk/pub/games/rts/commandandconquer3_tiberiumwars/demos/CnC3_Demo.exe so thanks to whoever posted that link further up the thread! :)

Oh it runs great im sure but build bases like I like to and it will slow things down a notch.

1) C&C is not about building a huge base. Go play SupCom :p

2) Even if you do decide to build a huge base, which I did on skirmish with my base taking up 1/3 of the map, I had minimal slowdown. Certainly nothing like in SupCom anyway.

I'm impressed looks great on my 7600GS, thought my old xp3200 would be a problem but so its been smooth as silk. I'll reserve final judgement till I've played the whole game but so far EA have pleasently surprised me

so i'm the only one not impressed by the gfx of it? some stuff looks good, the ion cannon is pretty, the engine sure has the ability to make some pretty effects but most the the artillery is pretty damn lame. the units just look retarded, overly big(scale wise) but look like kiddy toys rather than miltary power machines. the jugganaught just looks silly and as far as i can tell from skirmish is the biggest baddest unit, which you also seem to be able to get all to easily. there doesn't really feel like a progression over time of increasing goodies, limited units.

i also hate games where you can't zoom out far enough, just irks me. needs more units, that look way better and more varied projectiles, like half the units fire the same mortar/missile things that look the same.

Whats up with those invisible guys, they are far too overpowered. They suddenly appear in my base and destroy buildings in seconds.

Also is the only way to put a refinery next to another resource, to expand your base to that location?

Reminds me a bit of dawn of war for some reason. Looks good though and plays exceptionally well on the opc in me sig. Deffo gonna have to get this. Cutscenes look good too and was the the guy who played lando in star wars in one of those scenes also?

theres outposts aswell or something, surveyer or something, forgotten already :p

i assume they build quicker and are cheaper than a full mcv. they take a while to build once you tell them to open out, while an mcv is almost instant.
