How the hell did it take anyone 2 ion cannon shots to destroy the base, 1 seemed to do it for me, although maybe I did it a bit a bit more central and got all of the mission tragets.
I didnt realise just how powerful it was, was planning to just go in and capture his base but then realised i could destroy it in one shot lol :P

I think it's going to have to be sorted in a patch, I mean what's the point if you can take out everything in one Ion Cannon blast?

I've always belived that superweapons should never be able to take out other superweapons or the construction yard.

The Nuclear missile doesnt seem able to. Took my MCV down to red health but didnt kill it and i landed it right on top. I think the ion cannon is more powerful though, which I agree does suck.

dl it today and im very impressed its like playing tiberuim sun but with updated graphics and some new units. The FMV is great it makes you wanna finish a mission to see what happens next. This game is based on my personally favourite c&c series the tiberuim wars and its stayed faithful to it and this is a definite purchase from me :)

Nothing new at all............its C & C.............with a new games engine (which is bog standard 'safely' programmed..........if that makes sense.) infact it annoys me abit they have gone OTT with the heat haze something stupid there are more effects available EA than pixel shader 1.1 ;)

Gameplay wise its not bad, but its nothing new, C&C was a good game and always will be (better as it was 'ground breaking'), as this is ni-on identical structure/game wise so it was never going to be bad..........its just nothing new what so ever.........somewhat disappointed they could have done so much more, its more like a 3rd party C&C TW mod for generals.

SC excels here as it IS something different, not your 'usual' RTS

C&C3 needs:

1) A NEW GAME ENGINE ! sort it out ! let me zoom out more ! 1920x1200 looks like im playing it 640x480 ! everythings CHUNKY !

2) LOADS of new units, it has some, but more tweaked version of all units we've seen already, at least in the demo

3) Gameplay overhaul, yes its not a -bad- game but its all been done, what needs to be done now is to take the game, get the greatest minds in RTS to sit down and think how it can be improved, with fresh ideas and approaches (yes there is if it aint broke, dont fix it idea, BUT WE NEED SOMET DIFFERENT AFTER 10 YEARS ! :p )

So yeah in conclusion, I may get it to have some 'quick RTS' gamage against my mates online, but not sure if id do the campaign, if I want awesome campaign with something different in the RTS genre ill play SC

I dont like the way people keep complaining about C&C 3 not having a "Zoom" function. The original didnt, this one shouldnt either.

Im also shocked people are comparing this with Supreme Commander? All they have in common is that they are RTS games, this is all! C&C doesnt need to aspire to huge maps, 12 hour games and artillery that fires over the whole map.

I have played Sup Com a lot and it is NOT a "fun" game to play compared to C&C.

Yes, CnC3 is a pick up and play, 15 minute fun bash and supcom and (CoH even) is more intense, deep and involved. The games are likely to appeal to different audiences. I prefer supcom since i think that will have longeviity with the multplayer (and i also prefer multiplayer games), however, i beleive that the CnC 3 single player will be far superior, both stylewise, but also with story over supcom.

a zoom function isnt the problem, the problem is the default 'zoom' level is so so so so so so SO close, so much so it hinders game play, far to much time spent on the arrow keys movin around the map when if the 'zoom' level was out abit more gameplay would be vastly improved.....

.....if the 'zoom' level was at the level of the origonal game there wouldnt be a problem..............please EA set the 'default view' and 'scale' level to the origonal C&C games (not generals) and all would be well

You can probably change it yourself through a setting in the game folder, you can do it on generals, just had to change a couple of details, I imagine this game with have the same option, don't think you can play online with it changed though.

The graphics look quite drab and dreary on my lovely Radeon 9250SE. LOL.

Yes, I think this will have to be a purchase for the Xbox 360.

nice :)

maybe someone will be able to make it so you can be NOD from the start? :D

You can already be NOD in a Skirmish?

Highlight NOD in the team but don't click it, then press N and Left Mouse Click simultaneously. Voila! Play as NOD.
