Command & Conquer Announcement Nears...

I like both methods, playing online with friends was awesome, but rushing just isnt my cup of tea. We usually messed around more than anything. Having said that I still thoroughly enjoyed Zero Hour, spent so much time in it. All generals were great fun except vanilla GLA who was just plain bad.

I couldn't give a damn about the online e-peen waving competitions that happen when games have multiplayer mode.

For me its all about the single player.

Strategy against the most basic form of AI, in a game that's all about out witting your opponent...

Red Alert 1 was the best c&c imo. C&C was nearly as good and RA2 was good fun. Generals was a fair attempt at a strategy game but really didn't warrent having C&C in the title and C&C3 was a nice expansion to the C&C universe. RA3 however was utter rubbish and Tiberian Sun (admittedly was by Westwood themselves) was cack too.

Basicly, I don't hold much hope up for this newest game in the series.

screeny just looks like SCII with fancy graphics.. but no doubt abssolutly pants gameplay... C&C is dead without westwood.

At least it's PC only, so they wont be trying to dumb it down and destroying the control interface to help it appeal to casual console gamers :D.

Indeed. I guess sales will suffer but if you want to make this the best game possible there is only one to do it and that's the PC way. If I had loads of money I'd be offering Eidos Montreal a bit to make Deus Ex 3 PC only :)

If it turns out like RA3 (toy town wars) then no thanks

The screenshots certainly make it look that way.

Excellent. More fun cutscenes and less decent gaming.

Time to guess the plot:

Planet is pretty much almost entirely covered in Tiberium. Kane has a map to some new planet. He gets GDI to help him make it there, actually turns out its the Scrin homeworld. Lots of whoopage ensues.

It will be more interesting when in game footage is shown. If it turns out like RA3 (toy town wars) then no thanks :D
The Tiberian series were always a little more 'serious' than their cold war counterparts imo, with the exception of Red Alert 1. I think we'll be fine :)
