Personally I wouldn't want to see the PC and Console sections merged again. I have absolutely no desire to look at PC info, and almost never go in there. I'm sure the same could be said for PC gamers about consoles.

Id like to see pc and consoles joined, and get some of the regular sensible contributors to moderate them, it surely must be possible to just allow moderation for this part of the forum only.
Who you would get is another matter, after seeing the rubbish Nokkon has had in the last year as an underboss, you couldnt pay me to do the job, although im sure someone like Cheets would love a banstick and would wave it with gay abandon

Ditto, PC gaming fans and console fans do not get on and simple multiplatform game threads would be a mind field. You just have to look at the amount of PC gamers come in here a slate FPS on a joypad its beyond childish.
The big problem with Consoles is that nearly everyone rises to the bait in general. If you want the place to be sorted, just don't respond to weirdos so much. I have seen guys like Wyrdo and Kree, who have complained of poor form, rise to the bait as well in the past.
It's a collective effort. You can't just participate in petulant debates and arguments then say 'oh it's not being moderated enough'. You have to be a part of the solution too. I have been in Consoles for a very long time now, and I know that pretty much everyone who has posted in this thread has all been a part of the problem at one point or another.
Yes, more stringent moderation would be nice, but a little bit of self-moderation will go a long way too. I used to be a right little troll a year ago and now I just don't bother. I haven't flamed or been flamed in ages. It's quite pleasant. Try it.

Oh definitely, I'm not saying I haven't because I'd be lying but I've really become fed up with this forum recently and don't spend nearly as much time in here as I used to but you make a very valid point.

You have a point. I don't think this section is as bad as some make it out to be. Go over to the gametrailers forum and see how bad that place is compared to here.
Not necessarily, genuine people out there tend to fall into these traps. Of course your going to defend the console you own, you bought it after all.
But I'm not sure if you got my point or not. I've got no problem with people defending what they own, but it's just the case of the same few people are berating the forums with the same old nonsense day in and day out. Trying to pick at posts which are light harted banter turning them into something they're not. Misconstruing posts which have no mallicious intent at all into something which they're not.

And I turned around and said, "Well you're just a Sony Fanboi, look at your sig! Go out and buy some games... oh what's that? You can't... there's none there..."
It'll create a stir.
If I replied with something like, "Fair enough, but I've got a fair few sports titles, RPG's and racers as well...". It makes the forum much nicer to read.

Sure thing, there are worse places in the web than the childishness in here.
The difference is, GT or GS have a reputation for kids running around acting like spoint brats spouting abuse at anything that moves.
OcUK's forums has never been that bad, it's had it's moments of course, but never that bad and I hope it never would be.
You wouldn't think that by the way they act though.

I just laugh at the fanboys, i don't take anything in this section seriously anymore.
It's has been out of control for too long and what used to be a good part of the forum has turned into a complete shambles. As it has been said many times we need a dedicated mod such as Thestig1 or cheets64.

and I used to enjoy Inoshishi's posts too, mostly mellow and laid back, but even he had enough of idiots like Stig1 in the end, and doesn't visit here any more.
