Community ! Can't believe there isn't a thread.

This season has been terrible. All the characters are constantly at each other. I feel the series has taken a nose dive and broken it's neck

I only started watching this a few weeks ago. Had a steady one episode a night for a bit, and then last night I watched the second half of the first season - the chicken episode is amazing.

Watched a few episodes of season two and I've noticed I'm really not laughing as much. That said, I'd happily carry on watching it getting worse and worse purely to stare at Alison Brie :o

I just want to say I have watched about 10 episodes and have only now found out that Chevy Chase stars in the show. I had to double check

Always remember him from Caddyshack and National Lampoon's Vacation

It's been hit and miss so far. Some of the best writing in the entire series was in Remedial Chaos Theory and Advanced Gay.

Just been dropped from the mid-season schedule by NBC. Oh dear. Not good.

I know, I already have a bad opinion on US networks 'workings' but what does this quote really mean?

Critical fave Community is being benched to make way for the return of 30 Rock on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 8/7c. An NBC source insists the show is just taking a breather and has not been canceled. Still, I have to ask: Do you want to live in a world where Whitney remains on NBC’s schedule but Community doesn’t?

A breather, eh?

Actually another sore point is most of the shows are taking the xmas break of upto 4-6 weeks, as found here.

The break thing has been happening for the past...five year or so. Always happens on the bigger networks.

NBC won't can Community completely because the numbers are still pretty good (3 and a half million viewers on the last episode) they're just not AS good as their other shows.

They'll finish the season - they have to, they're contractually obliged to do so - but it remains to be seen when that'll be. One of the biggest problems for NBC is that the show is made by a third party production company, meaning that it's not a completely in house show like all of their other comedies. They're not seeing a big enough monetary return on it, really, so in their eyes it makes sense to "bench" it for something more popular at the moment.

Upside is that if it doesn't get a fourth series it can be taken elsewhere due to the aforementioned third party thing.

I reckon it'll be back in the summer.

I'd re watch them mate. I enjoyed them all much more on second viewing.

Never heard of re-watching a 25min sitcom making it better. I used to literally lol four or five times watching season 1 and 2, so far I count 2 lols in season 3... it's got like The Big Bang Theory.

Feels like the writers are trying to cater for a wider audience, it no longer has that cult feeling anymore, more like a Saturday afternoon Disney sitcom now.

Season 1 was outstanding.

Season 2 was good.

Season 3 has been terrible.

As the show has progressed they've really changed the characters from season 1, and it's just not worked. They never should have taken Chang out of the classroom. And they've gone from a group of misfits who came together, to a group of misfits who apparently hate each other.

The dynamic is just all wrong. Even Abed who was one of the best characters in season 1 just isn't loveable any more.

They killed it. The final nail in the coffin for me was this years Halloween ep. Out of the previous two seasons the halloween eps have been amongst the greatest (Pierce on drugs and Batman, and ABBA Zombie Fest!), this years... boring... I don't think I laughed once. :(

Regardless of the quality of the show, NBC are a joke these days. 10 years ago they were on top with some of the best television, nowadays they are running crap pilots left, right and center.
