Anyone switched package mid contract? 1GB is only £29 now, which is the same as what my 500MB costs (after it got bumped for cpi), still have 1 year to run and not going to change isp, so no issue taking another 2 year. Anyone done it, or will CF make you stick to the deal you signed up with till the contract is out (fair enough really).

Will give them a ring next week, but thought I'd ask anyway, see if any one had any success.
Heads up it's gone down, £25/m while in contract, £27 afterwards. Worth calling just to see what they say.

Yes just saw that. As I signed up yesterday hope they do the switch. So far I've had someone suggest I cancel the installation tomorrow and make a new account which just seems bizarre. Hoping customer services sort this out ! They've left a ticket and someone will call back

I contacted them. Seems sales guys have zero idea when it will actually likely go live. The first guy I spoke to a couple of months ago guesstimated it would be around now. Hoping it happens in the next couple of weeks otherwise will have to go on a rolling contract with Virgin or some other company as it can't be long now.

So spoke to customer services. Have to get it installed tomorrow. Then cancel the contract then sign up again to take advantage of the new price.

Price yesterday was an offer price. Price today (cheaper with the new base price). Apparently they can't change the price on the account. Just dumb !

Seen this kind of thing with other companies too. Not unique to them. Definitely seems bizarre

Quick install. Young lads seems to he very happy working for the company, always a good sign.

Averaging 930 up/down via ethernet.
750 on wireless

Still getting 100 end of my garden so the router is pretty decent !

Super pleased

Good stuff. Will send an email out in 2 weeks time to see if any updates. Hopefully I don't get the scripted answer from a noob

Been checking every day for the last couple of weeks and it's finally gone live for my road (RM13 area)! Instantly went for the £25/m 1gb package, an absolute no brainer. Installation date is next week Saturday, hopefully they won't have too many issues running it to where I want it.

Glad to finally leave Opernreach's FTTC line, but I won't cancel that yet until CF is properly up and running for a few days.

Damn. Mine still says coming to your area! If it is enabled for you can't be long for me :D

My Virgin contract ends this month and i've been checking on the community fibre website for the last 12 months or so to check availability, the same message keeps on greeting me 'coming soon'. Today though, I decided to check on their website alternative addresses on my road as I saw CF engineers 3 months ago doing some work but further down my road. I saw that flats on my road were able to get CF but when i selected a house with the same post code it said 'coming soon. Can anyone confirm if CF also offer the their services in a sole occupied house?

Okay. Well it looks like i'll have to renew with virgin again as there's no other alternative for now. Damn, i'm really not looking forward to having to deal with the virgin retention team again after my last experience.

One thing that really bugs me about VM is post contract price, which was one reason why I stayed away from them.

If you think they should be going live soon, maybe consider a temporary 4G/5G package for the short term? Assuming you have good coverage of course.

I emailed CF to see if they could provide any info on a possible go live date, they replied back:

"Thank you for your interest in Community Fibre.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide estimated live dates as there are too many variables that can prevent or prolong the service form reaching your property.

You will receive a letter once we are about to begin the works and once again when the service is ready to take up on our website."

I'm currently on VM Gig1 paying £33pm with volt O2 £10pm sim, if i can get the same deal with them then i'll just renew. I've never tried a 4G/5G package, but I have a few things connected to my hub like a NAS with PLEX so I don't know if one of those packages would be able to meet the demand and work smoothly. For sure though, if I knew definitely CF was going live in a month or so I'd consider it, but I think the way things sound i'd be extremely lucky if CF went live for me in the next 3-4 months.

I got the exact same copy paste email. I am hoping it won't take too long for them to arrive for me as they are live not so far away. Will. Keep an eye on it and see at what pace they are getting closer.

I officially left virgin now. They did not do enough to keep my custom.

Install went very smoothly, only took around an hour. There was a team of 3 engineers, 1 for the outdoor part and 2 for routing the cable indoors.

@TNA did ask if they had any ideas if they would be live around your area, sadly they don't know.

Couple of things I noticed, on the Linksys router I can only set the IPv4 DNS, and enabling this kills IPv6 access. Decided to leave it on default for now and just manually point devices to my pihole instead.

Couldn't work out how to turn off the Wi-Fi either but a quick search pointed to pressing "CA" in the small notes at the bottom to unlock the extra Wi-Fi settings.

Also, definitely worth investing in Wi-Fi 6, doesn't even need to be 6E.

With the Linksys router: 670mb down, 460mb up
With the Unifi 6 Pro: 880mb down, 670mb up

This is testing with a Pixel 6 Pro which granted doesn't have the best Wi-Fi performance so your mileage may vary.

I do believe the 3gb package does come with a Wi-Fi 6 router, 1gb only comes with the older 5.

That is an awesome speed bump there. And that ping :D

Appreciate you asking them. It seems there is a policy not to say anything as things can change I suppose.

I thought the 1GB line came with the WiFi 6 router. Maybe since dropping the price to £25 they changed that. To be honest for my needs I would be fine anyway, as long as the actual WiFi range is good enough. My main rig is wired :)

It is crazy that you could have a 3gb line if we wanted now :D
