wonder why that doesnt have it yet the 1gb has?

Simple. Pricing. Not many will be on 3GB as it is double the price.

Is CGNAT bad for gaming? I play some Warzone etc, so don't want to give myself even more of a disadvantage. I'm over 50 as it is!!

It is not any gaming. Only a small select type where you are the one hosting the game and people connect to you. At least that is what I understand. If it was all gaming many people would never bother.

Great thanks! Appreciate your advise just what I was after!
Hi

Not 100% sure what router CF will supply assuming it’s MX….. will the following ‘Linksys Velop Mesh Wifi WHW03 V2’ work if i add these as additional nodes to extend the wi-fi alongside whatever they supply?

thanks

Model number is SPNMX42BF-UK... which oddly points to BeFibre so I'm assuming CF is just using the same ISP version as them.

If I'm looking at it right, the WHW line is only WiFi 5. Not 100% if it will mesh with the CF router, but they are a step down in terms of WiFi speeds. The MX line looks closer in spec but is considerably more expensive.

Just to give you an idea, testing with a Unifi 6 Pro and AC Pro, with WiFi 6 I get ~890mb vs ~560mb on my Pixel phone.

Ok thanks for that. So from your experience/setup what additional mesh’s would you recommend that I can use with the Router they supply aside from the same router. Thanks

Any kit that has access point mode. The Linksys will just be a dummy router with WiFi turned off. I've gone the wired route with Unifi, but if laying a cable down isn't an option, I've seen Asus mesh being recommended.

Can vouch for Asus mesh after a lot of time/research/returns. If you ever need to expand your mesh or replace bits down the line, the AiMesh system is fantastic since you can pretty much get any of their lineup even if it's not matching and it'll integrate right into your mesh without a problem. There's also custom firmware available if you like to tinker.

Two and a half weeks gone since black box install. Nothing yet for me.

Would be nice if it is available in the next couple of weeks or I will need to go to a family members house to download Starfield on their 1gb line

I just went live with CF. A box appeared on a pole on my road about 8 weeks ago, I’ve been checking availability periodically since then but noticed the box was now at the top of the pole and sure enough, Wednesday night I placed an order and they showed up Friday morning to install.

Coming from Zen FTTP, I wasn’t itching to change but ditching PPPoE and gaining 1gbps upload while saving a load of cash was a big draw.

Cgnat took me by suprise though. When i found they were coming, it wasn’t a part of the 1gbps plans. I’m currently trying to figure out whether to go 3gbps or find something like an l2tp service for static ip.

Does that CGNAT thing effect someone like myself who occasionally plays a little MS flight simulator with all the online functionality like live weather, live multiplayer?

I don't play COD or Battlefield as much as I used to, but that could change.

What would be the issue if I did these things and had CGNAT.

Don't think so no.

I suggest going back a few pages, pretty sure the answer to your question is there.

Has it arrived in your area also?

It would not affect that

The cable has been fitted, and all the streets around me also have or are in the middle of having it installed also, It could be BT full fibre for all I know though, lol.

I looked at one of the boxes the other day, and I couldn't see anything apart from some label saying copper/fibre, with copper being crossed out.
