Another rapist with a short sentence (5 years) was let out and subsequently raped and murdered another lady.
Investigation found the murder and rape “could not have been prevented”. I’m not sure, I suspect if he was locked in prison as he should have been then that lady would still be alive but what do I know…
About time we get real on sexual offences and give people proper sentences and don’t release those that are still a risk.

I didn't see that on the initial article (and I haven't read any since).
I'm not excusing the guy, I'm just putting forward what may have influenced the judge rightly or wrongly.
