Community Shield spoiler

and you lot complain of Liverpool matches being boring, jeez even the highlights were boring. The only thing that made it remotely interesting was the unbelievable ammount of petulance and cheating on show :p

Jeffers :D
Cole should have gone too
will let Campbell off,cos a) DJx2 deserved a kicking for the challenge b) he was unfairly sent off last time they met

Howard looked very good, can't blame him for the goal as Scholes had left a very conveniently sized hole in the Man U wall.
Man U edged it imho -roll on next week

What, when Scholes came in late with the tackle? How does that compare to kicking someone in the back of the leg?

Nope, what I'm talking about was a blatent kick at Lauren. Lauren skipped past him, and Scholes hacked him down. Where Scholes kicked out, the ball had never been. It was no worse than Cole's or Campbell's kicks, which I am not defending. I am just saying that the fingers can't just be pointed at Arsenal players....

Some of the highlights are shocking and what Arsenal got away with, even my old man who supports Bolton (Such a shame) was sayin how dire the ref was! :)

You know what the biggest surprise of the game...Wenger didn't apparently see ANY of the incidents  SURPRISE!!!

SUPRISE!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/3139771.stm ;)

Arsenal should have had Cole and Jeffers sent off. Scholes should have been off for man utd, RvN should have been booked for his push on Cole or he should have been booked for his pathetic diving.

Regarding the England team, I'd hope after that display and others like it that Sven dosen't pick Cole anymore he's more of a liability. Ole was takin the mick against him, he should have been sent off to boot. Also hope Scholes is the same as he's been awful for a while now, he drifts in and out the game far too much. I liked what I saw of Howard, now if only he was English... keeper sorted for next 10+ years if he was.

As a disclaimer I only saw the Itv highlights so didnt watch the boring bits ;)

Kirkland and Robinson will be first-choice players this season, so the England keeper IS sorted, and neither of those look dodgy on crosses or long range shots either :)

Cole will be out of the frame once Bridge starts performing for Chelsea. He's much better IMO.

Probably the one that I and most other people saw too in which he played very well considering it was his first 'competitive' game. ;)

I thought the keepers both looked decidedly dodgy. And besides, it was a first team debut for both, so what can be said for one can also be said for the other...

From what i can remember Howard only had 1 testing shot and it went in , hardly a stella performance like you are all saying.

Apart from that, there was also the longe-range effort from Henry in the first half, which although had no power or accuracy, he took forever to get moving to cover his post.

Can't remember one other than that, and I left the room after Jeffers went off cos I figured Arsenal would have to stop playing then and it'd just be boring once more...

I don't think you can blame the poor kid for that one error! Probably the first time he's played in a match with a gate over 20k, it was hot hot hot.. , his first semi-competitive game for Man U AND it was against the best opposition he's likely to face for another 6 months....probably.

I liked what I saw, only highlights tho remember!

I'm not blaming anyone, but Howard certainly didn't seem as good as Cudicini, Robinson, Given, Kirkland or Dudek, and thats the level he needs to be at.
