here in switzerland the average salary is 5700 swiss franc that should be about 3900 pounds in Uk. The average salary in UK ? Sorry for the title, perhaps Confrontation is correct.

Annually I think it is around £24k, which is £2k a month.

However this won't give a true representation for comparison, as the cost of living and other factors also need to be included.

Like I said not necessarily, is he referring to simple numbers or to comparative value?

If he is only referring to the number itself then that is a meaningless comparison.

Yes, salary here is only mounthly. Evert mounth for example we have to pay a sanitary tax. If you need to go to hospital, to the doctor or take medicaments in the farmacy you'll pay nothing. If you have to do an exam at the hospital you do it quickly without waiting. The same system I think is in Denmark and sweden.

Cost of life is relatively high, for a normal flat in the city ( average 80 m2 ) you pay 1100 to 1600 swiss franc a mounth ( about 800 pounds ).
