Not got any good composition ideas for this yet, coupled with me not really knowing the characters, their form, armor and whatnot. If anyone could point me in the direction of good references?

I'll just throw this 10 minute sketch into the mix for composition, maybe give you guys some ideas?

I'd love to see a video of this in production. Photos would be acceptable :D

Why not just google image predator or alien? And youtube for references.

Some cool stuff here guys! Especially Gord and Skippi for me! Now can everyone stop whinging about the prize? It's only a bit of fun and I think it would be great if ocuk could continue doing the odd competition.

I like skippi's. It's clear and concise. There's just enough going on without being a cluster **** of unnecessary imagery and text. I mean, if I was browsing to the landing page, bam, there's everything I need to know laid out in legible text.

And whoever said they'd like to see a video of shifty's work, I concur. I'd like to see a time lapse, it looks like it would make for great viewing to see the concept sketch come to life.

If someone could supply free video capture software that wont kill my macbooks ram then I'd happily make it into a voiceless timelapse. :)

I'll try out more ideas later.

Apologies but I'm not opening up Paint for less than £3000.
Disgusting to think that Spie could get my talent for a £300 case even though it's a bit of fun with something that could end up on my CV.

If there's one profession more expected to offer their services for only the possibility of reimbursement, it's artists on the lower rungs of the music industry ladder.

I'd have thought you'd have had more sympathy, to be honest, Dave.

Let's work this out.
For my £40 I will get ready at 7pm and come home at roughly 1:30am (depending on the distance of the gig) which is a total of 6:30 hours.
OCUK are offering a £300 prize which I could hopefully sell for £200 and people on here have proved could be done in 30 minutes.
Bargain.

Who did theirs in 30 minutes? I've put over 10 hours in already working on various ideas. One of the reasons why I didn't want to get too involved at the start.

Then of course there is the reputation of the company this is for. For some reason if you're being paid £40 for a gig, the venue can't quite be fantastic. And of course, this is a solo effort. You are in a band are you not? And finally, you're guaranteed pay. This is a competition with one winner.
