that sux. if you are happy that it is just the B2 socket that looks damaged, you can try to boot it out of the case with just 1 stick in a good slot, see if it posts. but like i said, i dont know what else is around there, but if it was going to do any damage you would imagine it had by now.
Just spoke to OC support re the R12 chip burning out, the lad there said it had happened to one of their prebuilds on a P8P67, exact same place - He is getting it RMA'd for me, so Win \o/

atleast you got to the bottom of it. what you have to ask yourself though, is will you get the same problem with a new board, maybe if its a design fault they will let you get a different model?
Bump - finally got my RMA'd MoBo, and a new case, tested it all out, put it back together and it's fine- turns out it was just a fault with the p67. All for the best really - my old one wasnt B3 rev anyways so should have returned it anyway
