If you could choose any music from any game on all platforms what would it be and why?

My personal choice would have to be Oblivion's music, everytime i play the soundtrack it get goosebumps, the way the music it selfs brings the game to life and sets the tone of the game is amazing. I've liked all of jeremy soules music.

The part of oblivion that shows its true flavour has to be when you exit the sewers and the game fades in and the music kicks you, you suddenly realise not only how huge the game is, but how well the music creates the atmosphere.

erm not 100% sure what this topics asking for but

When the Halo theme tune kicks in on the last level, makes it so much more epic.

but nothing beats the metal gear solid music, harry gergson williams is genius

Jeremy Soule is a true genius with his compositions. Liked his work in Oblivion, Morrowind (think he did that), KotOR.

Think I'll throw in the original Unreal music, and Deus Ex too.

I really liked the Morrowind soundtrack and Oblivion's was also brilliant.
I thought the music from X Beyond the Frontier and X3 was genius, really made the game experience better.

I'd agree that Unreal is pretty impressive. One of the first FPS to use a context-specific score (i.e. faster, more up-tempo music when a fight starts).

For title music, Jungle Strike is hard to beat.

C&C original as well.

I was playing the soundtrack off Itunes recently, massive pangs of Nostalgia. Can even remember my battle moves with the music on certain levels.

That or Full Throttle, which was about the same time (Music provided by The Gone Jackals, also on Itunes :))

I was just reading about a track today, anyone remember Xenon 2?

Well the music from that was done by bomb the bass of course and his inspiration/sample source was none other then 'assault on precinct 13', music done by john carpenter who in turn was inspired to write that film by 'Rio bravo', a classic western film in 1958 made by the late great Howard Hawks.

All great things come in time? :D

The soundtrack that came with Descent 2 was pretty cool. That's the rock music and not the standard midi stuff btw.
