Computers for under £25 will help 11 million disadvantaged Brits on benefits get online

As with anything on such a large scale, you are going to get ***** that take the pee and will just sit on Facebook all day.

But if it only gets 5% of those people in to work, then I think it was money very well spent.

Infact I would rather they spent a little more to make them half decent spec.

Will also keep jobless chavs off the streets as they will be far to busy playing Candy Crush on Facebook, so got to be a good idea overall.

When they say internet is a human right, doesn't that simply mean that you should have access to it. I.e the police won't come round to stop you from using the internet, but it doesn't mean that anyone is obligated to provide you with a PC and free access to the internet at their expense in your home...

Why would you have to increase the spec? They only need access to the internet and maybe word for a cv or homework for kids.

That build would be fine.

No...They giving them these cheap computers & broadband so they can look at porn all day...;)

Access to free, quality porn is a human right! :D

This thread is ****ing ridiculous. Good thing none of you are in office, we'll be back to the concentration camps in no time.

It's a tad Right Wing on these forums at times.

I think the internet will wipe out the human race

Sane, rational thought. I welcome our TCP/IP overlords.

Although its a good idea there should be some sort of system put in place that once they are delivered/setup that they become utterly worthless. I can see someone flogging them at the local pub for a tenner after he has been going round on a stealing spree. They may only cost £25 but if some scumbag can burgle a few houses and sell them for a tenner a piece it will become a nightmare.

I would also be concerned that it would create a whole new breed of scummers.. I mean scammers! For years people have been seeing reports of these Nigerian/indian/etc email scams and will attempt to try it themselves in the UK with the added bonus of having a UK P&G mobile phone number, UK Address etc etc etc. I feel this will become more accessible to them.
