Conan Exiles

ok great stuff mate :) quite looking forward to this, but at the same time very nervous for it's alpha performance

Think we might do the 30 day wipe PvP server as the first month will be the tell..... Then move to a perma server

Yeah I'm ready to click that refund button and the game isn't even out yet!

Calm down haha! But yeah, I'm trying not to get too hyped!

5am tomorrow morning its ready by... Some nice improvements made!

Tho as discussed in the whatsapp group, we're all going on the PvP boost servers as they're being wiped after the first 30 days. This gives everyone a chance to experience the game in its entirety before the wipe... Plus give a deeper insight!

Encase you missed it:

WILL POST OUR TS DETAILS UP LATER:

I have to say I loaded up Ark again over weekend and yeah performance still as bad with no real direction in the game, however I feel this is very similar and almost looks like an expansion of that game.

Not sure if there really will be anything over what Ark provided before really.

You've never heard of slipgatr??? He's been doing funny ARK content and tons of other stuff for years. Can be annoying at times, but I genuinely laugh at his over excitement over the top caffeine moments.

I never watched any ARK streams..but this guy is funny as anything I seen before....watching his stream instead of playing right now...jokes

Please explain

1. The game is an early alpha access, why are they adding DRM at this stage? Especially since the game is bound to be getting a ton of updates (with denuvo, from what I've read, this will slow the updates down as denuvo needs to be re-implemented with each update, this is largely why the crack groups wait for a few weeks/months as they want the updates/DLC content to be released first rather than having to start cracking the game/updates again i.e. essentially having to start work all over again) so to me... it says that this game is going to be stuck on the early alpha access stage for a long time like all the other early access alpha games

2. Isn't the main reason for these early access deals suppose to be due to the developers needing the financial support in order to be able to release these games that would otherwise never see the light of day? If so, how can they afford to pay for the most expensive DRM implementation there is? Instead of wasting money on a game that doesn't really need DRM in the first place, they should be putting that money into improving the game... Which further iterates my point about how all these developers just use early alpha access tag for nothing but a get out of jail free card when it comes to bugs, performance etc. etc.

3. If the thing about denuvo slowing down updates due to it needing to be re-implemented are true, then this will make it a nightmare for getting updates done in a timely manner and will only hurt the legit buyers

4. These open world survival games are meant to be played online so I don't see why denuvo is even needed in the first place

Basically a lot of people have heard the word denuvo and presume its the devils work without really knowing of its effects.

Would I prefer it without it, yes but if its good game and runs well I'm not massively bothered.

I personally don't think it has as much of an impact as what some make out i.e. killing your SSD's etc. but for some games, people who have had both the legit version as well as the pirated versions of games have said that the pirated version ran better, seen this mentioned the most for batman arkham knight, although given how broken that game was, it could have been some conflict at cause... Of course, you have take such claims with a pinch of salt considering that there will be people that want to tarnish the reputation of denuvo as much as possible for obvious reasons...

Saying that, the cracking group seem to have more or less nailed denuvo now although I don't think they will care for a title like this.

On a slightly separate note, I noticed that ARK has dropped to £7, are the incompetent ARK developers worried that they will lose most of their players to conan because it might actually run better and not be as much of a buggy ridden mess as it is...

Denuvo getting bypassed in 5 days was quite a shocker.

I am most definitely up for giving this a go and joining a clan. I sunk way too many hours into ark that I had memorised the map better than my own street :D.

Although I dont think I'll give as much leeway in regards to performance that I gave ARK. I kept playing under the hope they would keep their word and fix the basic bugs/improve performance. Afaik they still haven't a year later :(.

Little bit sad the tech tree will be limited by the setting I guess.

edit2: £26.99 expensive for an unfinished game. Still going to get it :D.
