1. The game is an
early alpha access, why are they adding DRM at this stage? Especially since the game is bound to be getting a ton of updates (with denuvo, from what I've read, this will slow the updates down as denuvo needs to be re-implemented with each update, this is largely why the crack groups wait for a few weeks/months as they want the updates/DLC content to be released first rather than having to start cracking the game/updates again i.e. essentially having to start work all over again) so to me... it says that this game is going to be stuck on the early alpha access stage for a long time like all the other early access alpha games
2. Isn't the main reason for these early access deals suppose to be due to the developers needing the financial support in order to be able to release these games that would otherwise never see the light of day? If so, how can they afford to pay for the most expensive DRM implementation there is? Instead of wasting money on a game that doesn't really need DRM in the first place, they should be putting that money into improving the game... Which further iterates my point about how all these developers just use early alpha access tag for nothing but a get out of jail free card when it comes to bugs, performance etc. etc.
3. If the thing about denuvo slowing down updates due to it needing to be re-implemented are true, then this will make it a nightmare for getting updates done in a timely manner and will only hurt the legit buyers
4. These open world survival games are meant to be played online so I don't see why denuvo is even needed in the first place
Basically a lot of people have heard the word denuvo and presume its the devils work without really knowing of its effects.
Would I prefer it without it, yes but if its good game and runs well I'm not massively bothered.
I personally don't think it has as much of an impact as what some make out i.e. killing your SSD's etc. but for some games, people who have had both the legit version as well as the pirated versions of games have said that the pirated version ran better, seen this mentioned the most for batman arkham knight, although given how broken that game was, it could have been some conflict at cause... Of course, you have take such claims with a pinch of salt considering that there will be people that want to tarnish the reputation of denuvo as much as possible for obvious reasons...
Saying that, the cracking group seem to have more or less nailed denuvo now although I don't think they will care for a title like this.
On a slightly separate note, I noticed that ARK has dropped to £7, are the incompetent ARK developers worried that they will lose most of their players to conan because it might actually run better and not be as much of a buggy ridden mess as it is...
