Conroe 3.6Ghz, X1900 Xfire....

Didnt Gibbos AM2 Benchmark own that Conroe one??? :p

Then again that was using an Nforce 5 Mobo with dual 7900GTX's

these chips do look just astonoshing, only thing i query is why on earth do people base their oppinions so heavily on the Pi1m time? for most on here its got to be about the 3dmark and games tests and then for others the productivity test (for media its likely to absolutely own as well mind).... which there seems to be a distinct lack of in any of these threads?

To me Superpi represents the speed increase when the cpu is operating most efficently, ie a processing intensive program that fits in the cache.
If you like you could take its real world speed increase as being half as effective since every other component will slow it down but by how much really is much harder to measure. I wouldnt mind knowing how much faster it loads windows but its a bit subjective then, maybe its no faster ?

lol. this cpu is so powerful, and for the guys who talk about cpu scores in 3dmark, you only should be concerned with the total 3dmark score.

conroe has a score 63500 3dmark01 atm about 7000 more than nearest amd

3dmark01 is way old and take no notice of anything before 3dmark06, as it gets confusing. 3198 cpu score or what ever it was cool, but check the orb on futuremark website, not highest so sorry if I dont get too excited.

3dmark 01 is more cpu limited than 05/06 so gives a better idea of your cpu's performance.

Gibbos rig scores same in 01 and 03 because the cpu is holding the system back a lot in 01.

And surely the overall score is more of an indication of your systems capability than just looking at the cpu score.

When I upgrade a CPU I dont just look at the cpu scores I look at the overall peformance increase.

Well i dont know, i think the fact its "3d" mark its geared more towards measuring gfx performance, but i know that 06 cpu test is limited to 2fps so to give a genuine cpu score where as doubt earlier versions are. But surley for system perfomance we would looking at benchs from "pcmark05" as these are all tasks we expect from our pc aswell as playing games.

Somebody please correct me im no expert.

LN2 is about as relevant as a bios shot just before it crashes. Air clocking is most relevant to most people, unless water becomes common like on that Apple Mac setup

No its overclocked from 3.33GHZ

He achieved 4ghz on 'only' phase cooling.

Others on the forum reakon he can 4.5ghz + with LN2. (liquid nitrogen)

nope, it is the 2.40 ghz model that he used, thats why it was on phase, the 3.33ghz will be either what he can achive on air, or the new top spec model that intel will come out with.

by the way to everybody, his name is fugger and he is a legend
