Considering buying a console...

360 has the larger game library (because it's been out for longer), although I'd say not many good games out lately, which is where the PS3 falls down.
Not as many good games out lately?

Stranglehold, Bioshock, Halo3 are all pretty big titles...

For the media streaming you could easily use the PS3 and get some decent games in a month or two.

And what would those be, pray tell.

I guess no one knows for sure until reviews or you play them yourself but,

Ratchet and Clank FTOD
Everbodys golf 5
Folklore
Uncharted
Time Crisis 4
Eye of judgement (plus loads of PSN eye games)
Wipeout HD
Haze
Unreal Tournament 3

are out in the next month or so. Not so bad i guess as these are all exclusives (this year for UT3)

Ratchet and Clank looks great and I'm hoping the controller won't annoy me too much on Haze, UT3 will be good obviously and Everybody's Golf is always good, but I'm far from convinced by all the others.

Found it boring from second I picked up controller :p

Yeah like me, I found Bioshock boring, but look at all the people who love that.

Like I keep pointing out its all down to peoples personal choice, life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff.

You just can't please the fanboys.

I say "not many good games out lately" and it get's jumped on. Oh, and naming 3 good games... well done, wow, 3.

As for good games in the next month or two.. I'm sure you know the big games on the horizon (some of which posted by msmalls74)

I'm no fanboy, and you were hardly jumped on. You said there were 'not many good games out lately' yet I names 3 (yes 3) from the last MONTH! And all 3 of those were big title games.

I could go on and name a massive list of brilliant ones already out, or brilliant ones coming out on the Xbox360 if I wanted, but no. I said 3 games to counter-act the 'lately' comment which was a million miles off mark.

Apart from Bioshock, Halo 3 and Stranglehold the 360 hasn't seen many good games in a while; that was my point.

Funnily enough, that's the whole argument against a PS3 at present. Oh, and the 360 has been out how much longer than the PS3? Hardly surprising that the library contains more games is it.

I could also name some good games coming out on both formats, what's your point?

My original point was; if you buy a 360 now it's better value, so long as you're willing to sacrifice the poor reliability where you could easily get a PS3 now (albeit a lower library of games) and then get some good games a few months down the line.

Bioshock was the start of the great wave of games that the 360 gets. Every console is affected by the 'summer drought' so there was hardly any games over the summer for every system, so cant really just use it against the 360.

O'Rly?

From a gamer/consumer point of view it has a bigger games selection which is beneficial to the consumer.

These threads always cause arguments, this is why I tend to stay in PC Games.

One month ago I bought an Xbox 360. Whilst I've always been a loyal Sony fan, the Xbox just seemed to be more attractive. Sure, next year I'll be picking up a PS3, but at the moment I've too busy buying cheap Xbox 360 games.

Buy an Xbox 360 now, grab loads of games that are lower then release price, then do the same for the PS3 next year. Easy.

I would class a month previous as 'lately'.

PS3 has been out a year. In a year the Xbox360 had already had some crackers.

I could also name some good games coming out on both formats, what's your point?
So could I, but you were damning the Xbox360 for not having any good games lately. I was merely saying it's had good games in the past, good games lately and will have more good games in the future (as will the PS3 and Wii).

But you could ALSO get some good games down the line on the Xbox360. You talk as if, once the PS3 gets going the Xbox360 will stop having good games, which was my original point.
He could get a poor library of games on the PS3 and get some good ones in the future OR he could get an excellent library of games and some good ones in the future on Xbox360.

As for reliability issues, the PS3 isn't perfect either. I'm on my second.
