But to change the topic slightly, there is a rather interesting development coming to light. Personally i don't believe it, but its interesting none the less.
One Evan can get his teeth into.
-------
Benazir Bhutto, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, had consistently denied any role of the Pakistani government in Korea’s nuclear ambitions. But now, it has come to light that a CD containing vital nuclear data was carried by her personally to be handed over to her Korean counterpart as part of a secret deal!
*snip*
Everyone knows that Pakistan helped North Korea to go nuclear; that's old news. It was reported by the Beeb as early as 2002. But to claim that Bhutto was some sort of king pin is just plain stupid.
Firstly, what kind of idiot seriously believes that Pakistan would choose to smuggle top secret military technology by burning it onto a CD and asking Bhutto to stuff it into her pockets?
Secondly, why even resort to subterfuge in the first place? There would be no need for it, since Bhutto was Prime Minister, and could carry whatever she liked to whomever she liked.
Thirdly, since she was flying from her home country to a friendly nation, who was she supposed to be hiding the CD from?
Fourthly, why use a coat with deep pockets - as if this would make any difference? Why not just put the CD in a bag or a briefcase?
Fifthly, why would the PM be carrying the CD anyway? Why not a representative of the military, or a member of the nuclear weapons R&D team?
Sixthly, why would
Bhutto make the CD herself? She wasn't a nuclear scientist, and she had no expertise in the field of nuclear weaponry. And what evidence is there that she even had access to that sort of data?
Finally, who the hell cares?
