Continental Football **spoilers**

Entertaining Barca game. They're playing well recently but I have to disagree massively with the commentators who were making out they are unstoppable, and that it'll take a great team to beat them. Take away Messi and you take away half of Barcelona.

I still think they're INCREDIBLY suspect defensively, and I think their dominance comes mainly from the fact that the teams in Spain aren't of a very high quality just now. Real Madrid for example are woeful.

I think Barca will come unstuck against most of the other big teams in the CL.

that's why they're great to watch, they always look vulnerable to leak some goals but with a fit team they're going to be tough to beat.

any team w/out messi would be massively weaker....that's just how it is having a superstar on your roster - it's not a revelation .....anyway they've been resting him quite a bit this season w/out consequence and still annihilating teams.

With no consequence? The last game Messi did not play Barca drew at home to Getafe. :p

They've had two other poor results this season and Messi started neither game.

Obviously any team would miss their best player and there is no doubt that Messi adds an extra dimension to Barca, just like any other top class player, but he did have a poor game last night yet they still won 4-0. Albeit against an incredibly shocking Valencia performance who looked liked a team already defeated when they walked on the pitch. There is no doubt that over the last few years the overall standard of La Liga has dropped dramatically.

Defensively is Barca's achilles heel, even when they won the champions league in 2006 the defence was not the greatest.

I don't understand how you can say they will come unstuck against most of the other big teams in the champions league ?

All of the big clubs in the champions league have been pretty poor so far.

I had £2 on the Villarreal win @ 50/1 at HT, Rossi so nearly won it in the end I was actually pretty gutted, not often a 50/1 shot single comes in. I believe they drifted to 75/1 at one point n all.

No teams are really firing in champs league at the moment, well not the ones we expect! Few shock results so far.

Defense wise I dont think barca are too bad tbh look at last night was a 1v1 puyol and villa and within seconds 3 other barca players were back and villa had no chance.

Dani alves is bloody awesome as well what a player he is at the moment.

And saying barca rely on messi too much is kind of 50/50, any team without the star player is going to miss him same goes for man utd and ronaldo, man city and robinho and so forth. But even last night messi had a pretty quiet game especially by his standards and they won 4-0! Dont think he even had a part in any of the goals?

I could hardly watch the few minutes after they equalised! It wasnt even a big bet but after them coming back so well id have been gutted if i hadnt won!
