Contracts seem to be getting ridiculous in price!

As long as everything comes out of the allowance and I never get charged untill I exceed it Im very happy.

Would be daft not to increase from flext 35 to 40 while I can for just £2.50 pm more.

T mob just let me upgrade my tariff from flext 35 + wnw max, to flext 40 and wnw max while keeping my discount from when I do my next upgrade.

So my tariff will now be:

£31.85 pm, £225 pm allowance for calls and texts inc 08 numbers (1125 mins or 2250 texts) plus 10 Gb internet with tethering and voip.

Anyone jealous? :p

I can also add unlimited texts for £5 pm but dont need those, I have more allowance than I'll ever need. £20 pm for £225 allowance, £11.25 pm for 10 Gb internet with tethering and voip, plus a little extra since the vat increase. Sweeeeeeeeet tariff!

Wow, now this takes the mickey ....

I called at around 12 PMish, and they were absolutely going to let me change my tariff too 'web n walk max + flext 40'.

I even asked if it was the £62.50 one that would be reduced to £31.xx and they said and offered to do it there and then. I asked if I could wait until until my ugrade date, the person asked a manager and they said yes I could.

I called up again to discuss with with two seperate people because I wanted to ask about the 12 and 18 month options, and both of them said that they couldnt do it and I was given wrong advice by someone not on the retentions team. Apparently retentions had been full and my call had been diverted to the pay as you go team in the Philippines who had no clue what they were talking about ... but the offered to upgrade my tariff to Flext 40 and Web n Walk max there and then when I had called them???

.... What do I do, should I try to get through to the person that had offered the price plan change and see if it can still be done?

Phew, I called again and spoke to someone, who might actually now be in a bit of bother for what she did ....

I quoted the information of what it states on this page:

http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=PRICEPLANS

Old plans are no longer on sale to new customers but are still being used by some existing customers. If you're not on one of these plans already, you won't be able to move to one. If you can't find the details of your plan below, contact us.

At first she said the same that changing the tariff wasnt possible, but after I quoted that part a couple of times and said that according to it, old plan customers could change to another old plan, she put me on hold for a very long time, and managed to access some magic over ride thing that allowed her to change me to Flext 40 + WnW max 18 months (my tariff will be changed to it on Dec 9th).

Then I took a close look through all the old plans on that list .... Flext 40 and WnW max 18 months is not an old tariff, and is not listed ....

So I thought she had fubbared my account and given me Flext 40 + Web n Walk (normal not max), so I had to call again.

I discussed all the changes that had been made, and waited while they checked them, and it was confirmed - I have been moved onto Flext 40 and WnW MAX 18 months with £229 monthly credit (a little extra since the vat increase), and 10 Gb internet. The full price of which is £63.xx, and my discount will remain and definitely reduce it to £31.85.

I got an awesomesauce tariff that t Mobile had never ever offered, I'll be the only person in the country with it :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

...

The woman that made the tariff change said that it shouldnt actually have been allowed, and she would be questioned for why she did it, but it would be ok because all she has to say is that the T mobilie website said I could change to an old tariff and they have to change the wording on it.

But she gave me a magical tariff that has never actually ever been offered by T Mobile, oopsie, I hope she doesnt get into too much trouble :p

thats is very true - as long as your on flext you can move to another flext tariff.

Exactly what I kept telling them, but 3 people wouldnt listen until I quoted what their website said. One bloke was incredibly rude and saying 'I know what I am talking about, you cannot do this. The person that said you could was a normal CS advisor in the Phillipines, not a upgrades advisor'. Erm no, I called 150 and pressed 2 > 2 > 2 for the retentions team who told me I could change my tariff. Not my fault if you diverted me to an offshore call centre you clueless ^£%^£.

He had a Scottish accent and was angry at me for wanting Flext 40 + WnW max ..... typical

But I am on a Web n Walk Max tariff, and 'Flext and WnW max' is only available with Flext 35 ..... Flext 40 and WnW max was never a tariff that T Mobile sold, but I got it! :D

So I'm glad I got it done, after speaking to too many people who think they have power to deny old tariff customers an upgrade from Flext 35 to flext 40 with WnW max.

My skills at calling 150 >>> their skills at being clueless *****

I had to have a whine about this on the T mobile forums:

Uber sweetness, I cant believe I managed to talk them into giving me this:

£31.85 pm, £229 monthly allowance for calls and texts, 10 Gb internet :D

Repeating myself again, but I has a picture.

thats is very true - as long as your on flext you can move to another flext tariff.

Its really not allowed actually, you can only change to current price plans, but some customer service advisors thought it was, others told me it wasnt, and the wording on their website was unclear and ambiguous, and could be interperated as meaning that I could, and so they did!

If that made any sense :p

This also isnt a tariff that T mobile ever offered - back when I first took the tariff I tried to ask for Flext 50 + WnW Max for half price, but they told me that the only way to get WnW max for half price was with Flext 35, as this was the only Flext + WnW Max tariff that they offered! (I found a post I had made detailing this on another forum).

WnW max was never allowed as part of the tariff with any other Flext than Flext 35, I seriously have no idea how I managed to get this epic deal, and I actually think the person that did the change for me will be in a lot of bother whoops :p

If they needed a good deal, maybe they should look at a cheaper phone?

I think contract prices have gone up in the last couple of years, when smart phones started to become popular. I got a HTC Magic soon after launch and cost me £25 for 18 months. A similar deal is about £35 now.

Odd really when you consider the top end featurephones (N95, K800, K850 etc.) were around £400-450 sim free when they first came out. Phone prices haven't actually gone up but contract prices have (and the 12 month contracts you used to be able to get have been chopped).

bhavy, with respect, every thread I go into on this forum seems to have you boasting about your contract, give it a rest please, very few of us are interested and you're essentially trashing all the threads..

A lass i know got a samsung galaxy s2 from vodafone with 900 mins, unlimted data, unlimted texts for £24 a month for 24 months, phone free, thought that was quite good.

In the Lumia thread Im taking about upgrading to the Lumia. In the nexus thread I was talking about my 3 order for that phone. In the contracts thread Im boasting about my contract :)

Hi guys,

My first post here -

"Jealous" ?

To be honest I thought the opposite - & then you went on to say that you only use it for the data allowance !

I hope that when you do upgrade you get the highest spec device to show for your money.

Yup, free Lumia 800 :)

Web n Walk max used to cost £22.50 on its own. The only way to get it for half price was by taking the Flext 35 + WnW max tariff as adding it as a bundle on any other tariff wouldnt get it discounted.

This was the cheapest way of getting that much data plus tethering as part of a contract. Flext 40 was only £2.50 a month more and put loads more extra allowance on the contract.

The only other option for data + tethering is the One Plan, and that is 24 months and more expensive with a handset (Nokia Lumia 800 on the One Plan = £37 pm on a 24 month contract, for me its free on 18 months at £32).

To use my 50% discount, my minimum tariff cost has to be £35 pm. If I had taken any £35 pm tariff and added WnW max as a bundle, I would wave to pay £17.50 + £22.50 = £40 pm.

The tariff I am on is still the cheapest way to have this much data plus tethering on pay monthly, along with loads of minutes and texts and an upgrade every 18 months.

So I think we get the picture - you have a great deal - as far as T-mob/EE is concerned. But its not as good as you seem to think,

1) The prices you quote from 3 (The One Plan) -- FORGET ! those are just the 'Printed' deals. When I moved back to 3 in Jan, I called about a deal they were actually advertising not just in the shop/brochures but also on TV. But going on my previous dealings with 3 I knew that it was far wiser to call their online sales team - without even trying to barter I was offered the same deal for £5 LESS - in the end I got a better phone plus an Internet add-on worth another £5 bumping the total allowance to 3 Gigs.

2) Since then all pay monthly contract customers can now pay an extra £3 to upgrade to UNLIMITED Internet.

3) I get 500 mins + 5000 txts for £20

So with the spare change I could upgrade my plan and still come in far cheaper than the £32 that you are paying. So while it may be a great deal on T-mob for you doesn't make it all that interesting to me or others from what I've read.

Now if as you say you only use your tariff for the data - then what was the point ? This is why I think that its actually T-mob that have got the BETTER deal here, not you.

Also the Nokia Lumia is not what I'd consider to be anywhere near the highest spec phone.

From reading around various forums its seems that it is the existing customers that seem to come off worse. Then the customer is offered 'Sweetner' deals to try to lure them into thinking they have gotten a great deal.

Anyway I hope you enjoy and get plenty of satisfaction from your new phone/contract.

2) Since then all pay monthly contract customers can now pay an extra £3 to upgrade to UNLIMITED Internet.

Cool, but only the one plan allows tethering, but I know that 3 dont check up on this. You also dont get 08 numbers included, which will be a nice use for my contract too so that I dont get charged however much BT are charging for them. I'll try this after I remember to ask for confirmation from T Mobile that these numbers will be charged from my allowance.

I'm paying £575 over 18 months plus a Nokia Lumia with a data plan that suits me, on the one plan it would be £37 x 24 = £888.

Those plans on 3 are also 24 months compared to 18, remember that you have to pay for an extra 6 months before your upgrade.

Also the Nokia Lumia is not what I'd consider to be anywhere near the highest spec phone.

Didnt really say that I wanted the highest spec phone - I already ordered and sent back a Galaxy Nexus on 3 because the Lumia 800 is so much cheaper through my T Mobile contract. The only reason why I am not considering the Galaxy Nexus anymore is simply because T Mobile dont have it yet, but that might change before my contract renewal.

I see your point about the tethering factor - if its something you use then yeah. I already have a 3 dongle for my Laptop which is why I don't need the tether option.

Don't forget that the £37 is just the 'Print' price - you could EASILY knock that down to £32 by directly ringing 3 Sales team.

I will be only half way into my contract in Jan - but that makes no difference as I have NO intention of staying with the same phone for 2yrs so I'll just call them in Jan and barter for an early upgrade - more than likely the Galaxy Note.

Just last week I had a member of the 3 sales team call me to offer an upgrade that was based on me getting another friend/family on a contract as well though so I told them I wasn't interested - but if they're prepared to give me an upgrade just 10 months on the future looks ....er well not Orange - but 3 :--]

Well either way that are three threads where for several pages every other post seemed to be you discussing/boasting about your contract in conjunction with the phone you wanted...
