i don't get this 'humane' business either, in this country (and indeed in most 'western' countries) murder/death penalty is illegal, therefore how can any kind of murder in these countries be considered as humane?

it's murder plain and simple, people need to stop dressing it up with fancy words and 'morals' to make them feel better about the food they eat.

either eat meat, learn where it comes from and accept the barbarous way in which animals are kept/treated/killed or or don't eat meat.

I dont like those videos, putting anything live into boiling water is just wrong in my eyes. Theres a reason poultry is killed quickly, ethics and all.

Plus when you play around with it, it's just uncool.

Thats a good point but programs like kill it, cook it, eat it have probably reduced the impact that that has on people. On a technology forum though?????? I don't think everyone has a problem with the crab being eaten, its the way its done that bothers some posters which is fair enough. Point is, kill it but do it like a grown up and make it fast and effective.

That's what their religion dictates, so that means it's ok.

Personally I worship Neptune, and he says it's ok to boil crabs.

I don't think everyone has a problem with the crab being eaten, its the way its done that bothers some posters which is fair enough. Point is, kill it but do it like a grown up and make it fast and effective.

I have a problem with any animal being eaten, although I appreciate that not everyone shares my views so I normally keep them to myself.

Killing animals for food is part of life, sure you might not like it but its necessary, accept the fact that it needs to be done.

Vegetarians have the right to comment all they want about animal cruelty they choose not to eat meat and thats perfectly acceptable. Anyone else who eats meat and suddenly cares when they see a crab being killed is a hypocrite, how do you think meat is prepared? I has already been posted that dropping a crab in a pot of boiling water is the humane way to kill it so whats the problem?

If a tasty bear ran at you intent on ripping you apart, and you had a big gun what would you do? Sure its self defence but its still "murder." No no i couldnt possibly kill a vicious bear intent on destroying my existance, its inhumane.
