Cooking with Slinwagh: Steak sandwich.

Overrated. Both times I've been to GBK I've been really disappointed. Won't be going again.

They have a tendency to ignore you when you ask them to "hold the relish" when you have a garlic mayo burger. On one visit, the Manchester outlet, I had to return the burger twice because the muppets couldn't understand one simple request!

my steak sandwich consists of 1 large herb and cheese bagette from the bakers, heaily buttered, garlic butter.
a lot of rump steak (about 3 kilos), fried, rare. Then cut up and layered
fried onions, usually with some bits of bacon to add flavor.
pepper sauce.

Done, I usually do it if me and some mates are having an evening down the pub, i'm a big eater but theres no way i could demolish it by myself. It's the ultimate coming back from the pub snack, only serves about 3-4, otherwise the portoins are tiny.

A kilo each of rump steak? That's an obscene amount of meat for one person!

Never been to a Gourmet Burger Kitchen have you? ;)

I ate the burger with my hands :S and agreed it was a bit of a letdown.

Pizza express> GBK.

I need ideas for seasoning...best thing to use when it comes to steak?

Just pepper, a nice steak will speak for itself ;) No salt, it will draw out to much of the juices.

Could probably do with some mustard too. :p

So it can grow hairs, or actually for the taste? :p

How is less than a Kilo of steak tiny? :p

That'll be getting on for a tenner each in meat alone.

Yeah thats the only downside, £50, 4 frying pans on the go, to feed 3-4 hungry blokes is a bit of a pisstake however, it's so worth it. Probably shortens life expectancy by days too.
Its one of those things, I get random urges, I will make a sandwich, it'll be the definitive man sandwich.
