Was taken about a month back, im with Entanet Re-Seller ADSL24 (30GB/300GB) 8MB Package £19.99

And this is my work one from about 2 mins ago.

NHS Link, not bad speeds considering its probably under some high useage at the moment, i think the link is a 34MB connection. Ignore the distance thing though, it thinks im in USA for some odd reason.

A very happy Entanet/ADSL24 user. :D

Previously with BT I was getting less than 500kbps at weekends and even during weekdays were also a crawl.
 



dam ping no good for gaming need 30s or 40s, who will be best isp for gaming wise( lowest ping) mines nearly up now bye bye aol jokers

That speedtest is rubbish at estimating pings and it's probably not you're real ping - try pinging bbc.co.uk from you're command prompt.

Entanet are good for pings, as are Zen, IDNet, etc.
 
thing is it is not far off what im pinging in games at moment which is crap.try telling some indian that ping doesnt matter :mad::mad:best thing is few months ago pinging 30-40 max now its that 60-70 which is not good.no spyware virus nothing down to my line and aol nothing but carp from them since i joined.

Tried bbc.co.uk and i ping 42 which is ok something is wrong somewhere.

Using aol 1mb :O im amazed it used to be so crappy. I have already signed up tio have virgin media on the 13th. O BUGGER lol.


Now im told virgin are capping people to the extremes the moment 4pm rolls round no matter how much you download and that the top 5% being cut is a load of balls??? Is this true? Do you think it be better to cancel virgin?

:EDIT: is this killabits of bytes? Im not sure if i am getting my 1megabit or not.

and this is under half it should be uploaad is pretty much maxed out though

and yes to the man above about virgin media are capping out, that you see above is a 20mb line with virgin yet i can run that test any time of day and i get that result id be happy if it were more like 19000

As always, I am getting the shaft from virgin media ADSL. I would really like to cancel / switch but I am contracted until march 2008. Surely with speeds as sorry as this though? Anyone? upto 8mb 'unlimited' - that's a laugh, unlimited my ***

that's fine for 1mb - it's in kbps - divide the numbers by 8 to get your kb/s.

i just replied in another thread about virgin adsl - try and avoid if you can. :)

have you got line stats - there are sites that can estimate the sort of speeds you'd get on a max service. (assuming your 1mb is fixed at the moment)
 
Well im getting cable. Ive always been told dont expect over 2mb but that was some time ago and tbh they said it without any details. Its an old Victorian house though.

you're getting cable but being told what speeds to expect? :confused:

admittedly i know nowt about cable but i thought you can either get it, or you can't?
