Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced

ive got the first version of this case, its been a few years since i built anything, but how do the little blue brackets come up when installing a new graphics card, i cant get the old one out :p

cheers

I dont have blue brackets on mine. Are you refering to the PCI slots and how they are held in? For example on my case they are thumb screws.

Anyone replaced or considering replacing their fans?

It is slowly dawning on me that it is a bit loud. I don't really want to pad the inside with that noise kit you can get as I reckon I can get new fans for the same price.

Just wondering what fans anyone has used / would use?

I think the front fan is the noisy part?

The standard fans are rated at 19db. I have switched all mine for Fractal 140mms, and a 120mm version for the rear. Much quieter and better airflow. There might be a better solution but this was mine.

I dialed my fans down to about 50% using a cheap fan controller and they're pretty quiet - not silent, but not noticable while gaming or watching movies.

Cheers Smeaney, I was actually looking at those as well probably going to follow your advice. :)

What set up have people got their fan on?
I've just got hold of three 140mm and one 120mm yate loons DxxL's to go in, not sure if they are any good though as they are the low speed but wanted led fans and couldnt find any others that weren't stupidly priced.
I have the windowed case as well so only have one 120mm on the side. Also, is anyone using the space for an 80mm behind the motherboard??

dont use a mobo fan, its too loud (because of lack of space) and has no effect at all.
i use xigamtec fans on lowest so only a slight rumble (plus i run water)

I've gone for front 140mm intake that comes with the case. I've bought 4 120mm LED fans, 2 on top as intake and 2 on side panel as outlet. Then there's the 120mm outlet on the back.

I have a 5.25 drive bay fan controller running the fans.

Currently there's bugger all else inside the case as I'm waiting, right now, for DPD to deliver my cpu, memory, mobo, hsf and hdd. It's on the van and they deliver till 2000. I am starting to worry as I have not received a delivery slot via email yet :D

When it's all built I shall see if I need to change the fan config in any way.

My windows cm 690 II just turned up but black ops means i havent open the box....

Well it arrived the 9th of november and i have only just fitted it all in, poor show from myself.
Anyway, some pics. Not the best effort but im fairly happy with it (after losing my rag a few times(read lots) in the process. Sorry for the poor quality, will dig out the camera at some point.
