Cops shooting unarmed man

Thing is Americans know not to make a sudden move like that in the US when a cop stoops them.

The cop did handle it really badly but its probably down to poor training and he just panicked. Bad luck for all involved.

Not suitable.

That assault rifle one is a little disturbing. You're pretty much hearing the cops scream before their demise. I would remove that.

not being a spoilsport, ive probably watched these and if its the one i think it is then really on here ???

You get infractions for saying 'bum'

It's easy for people to criticise the cop but America is very different to western Europe. Like Dr House's links show it's a split second from having a traffic stop as in the OP's video and someone pulling a gun and killing you. The stakes are high and I wouldn't take the chance with my life. All cops need to make decisions in a split second, sometimes they get it wrong, and that can lead to either them or someone else getting killed.

Unfortunately, mistakes like this are the product of gun "freedom".

That assault rifle one is horrendous, don't understand why the two cops didn't tackle him when he was out the open and jumping about

Once you let someone in your personal space to tackle them you put yourself at greater risk.

The other thing to note is that many US cops work alone and in many rural spots. Backup can be best part of an hour away. If they don't take care of themselves, nobody else will. The US is a very different country to police with different rules.

The videos to me aren't that graphic or massively disturbing.

What I do find sickening and disturbing is the nature of the majority of youtube comments that seem to think shooting somebody because they're a police officer is ok.

While I agree with principle that they have a tough job, and have a split second to make a decision, and mistakes will be made. This is not one of those situations.

He asked the guy for his license, so was obviously going to go into the car, he then gets shot/shot at once for this. If it stopped here, I would be inclined to agree it was a simple mis-judgement, however, the guy moves away, has his arms in the air, and he still carries on shooting.

That is more than a mistake on a split second decision.

The officer asked him for his license, why is it surprising that he went into his car?

Is going back into the car, after being asked for a license unusual?

Since it is not unusual, or surprising that he went into the vehicle to get what he was asked to get. There shouldn't have been anything that I would expect to have spooked the officer.

The officer made a request, the guy complied and was normal behaviour for what had been asked.

The only reason I can see for the officer to be that jumpy about it, is if there was presumed guilt by the officer.

That's not obvious. If he did pull a gun, there would be no outcry, but at the point of pulling his gun, the officer doesn't know if that's the case or not.

Yes it is obvious. He asks him for his licence and is then surprised that he turns and leans in to his car. The officer was completely at fault, no exception. If he is so dumb that he can't process asking a guy for his licence is more than likely going to require him to get it from his car, then he shouldn't be working as a police officer.

I saw this a few days ago, such an un-composed untrained policeman. Send him to a war zone for 6 months..
